Success...? Everyone probably have a different interpretation to "success" in life, what is your interpretation of being successful in life?
What does success mean and how is it measured? Success could mean different things to different people. In a recent re-evaluation of my personal goals and life desires, I have decided to make a career change in order to spend more time with my family instead of my business. My definition of success has completely changed. I am curious what everyone else measures their success by? Is it money? Status? Health? Family? Friends? Big House?
What are the most important elements of finding success in life? In a persons quest for success in life, what do you feel are the most important things they need to practice or focus on to get there? What do you feel are the biggest road blocks or hurdles that people have to overcome in their lives in order to achieve personal success and which of these trouble spots do you feel are the most under-emphasized? What do you feel are the most helpful resources people can turn to? Personal success stories would also be appreciated. I'm trying to get a feel for other peoples ideas of success...want to compile a list of the most popular & most obscure answers, for research. My own idea is success in making ones way through life, achieving personal growth & reaching ones full potential, and finding ways to achieve ones dreams, goals and desires, whatever they may be. Example: Hard work, good comunication skills, good interpersonal relationship skills, persistence, etc.
How come some people seem to be jealous of your success and not jealous of the success of others ? Over the years I have managed to be successful at my work, and so far with my family. Without doubt, although I am generous and genuinly encouraging with my friends, I attract some nasty back biting jealousy, which can be very painful and damaging (maliscious gossip). However, I can't help but notice that these same oddballs (as I start to see them) are unusually creepy to people who have had equal success as me, but are flashy and tight fisted. Anybody experienced this?
What gives me the best chance of success while gambling in a casino? I will be in Lake Tahoe staying at a casino resort this Thursday. Does anyone have any suggestions for me relating to gambling - What games do you recommend and what to play on those games? I like Craps & Roulette but have not had too much success. How does one deal with the stress of success? I have plans for my life, some of which i"m already doing. I work at my local community college tutoring students, I'm studying psychology and social work at SFSU, and I have an apartment. I want to be successful and be a CEO, create a great life, and give back to my community, and be an example for others. Due to requirements of financial aid, certain programs that I'm in, and just plain old ambition, I am under lots of pressure. I will be the first person in my family to get beyond high school and get a bachelor's degree. I want to be a success and not give up. However, all the associated stress has taken a toll on my digestive system. It's hard for me to work when I feel queasy. I don't want to stop my climb to the top, but how does one make the body strong enough to deal with the work I must do to reach my goals? Eventually, I want to be a Ph.D, own my own home, and have financial freedom. But it's hard to do when I feel sick. But I don't plan to give up. How do I do it?
What are the success rates of inpatient rehab for alcohol? My husband just went to an inpatient rehab. He hit rock bottom and voluntarily went. He seems to be putting every effort into it. I am just concerned that that success rates are not great. I understand that when he gets home he will still have to go to meetings and probably do some intensive outpatient therapy. How much do the rates improve for those that continue on for more therapy and meetings compared to those that do not?
How much correlation is there with team chemistry and team success? I think a team that plays as a team is much more successful. Take the Cubs for example... I'll admit they're probably not THE best team on paper (though they are in the top 5 I'd say), but they play extremely well together as a team and when someone makes a mistake another player always seems to be there to pick them up. So the question is, do you think team chemistry plays a huge role in success?
What are the top 15 virtues and/or factors of success, based on your own experience? I read "how-to-be-successful" self-help books and there are varied suggestions as there are different authors and approaches. I would like to know from yahoo answers members what particular traits/characteristics they developed or those of people they personally know, whose principles they have actually witnessed, really worked toward their success or that made them reach their goals.

What should the benchmarks for success in Iraq be? I don't like the fact that troops are in Iraq but I recognise we can't cut and run now the choice has been made. The problem I have is there is no way to know what success in Iraq looks like. It has never been quantified. Benchmarks would mean we would know what to look out for. It would mean that the Iraq War is not open ended and has specific goals. It would also mean that they would have to focus their efforts on meeting the benchmarks they have made public or they would face criticism. Until benchmarks are created many more troops will die in this endless war. Benchmarking will save lives and it needs to happen. The goals will eventually be reached and the public will see an end in sight for this disaster. More importantly Iraq may have a chance of peace one day. What do you think?

What is the best way to determine the success or failure of a welfare program? Too often you hear those in congressional races and so forth proudly professing the success of increases in spending towards social programs including welfare, as though the increase itself was a major victory. Yet logically thinking, if a welfare program is indeed succeeding, then wouldn't this mean you are getting more and more people off of welfare thus a decrease in spending? But obviously, this is a catch 22, because a decrease in welfare spending does not necessarily equate with people moving up in class, it could also mean people just not getting the same help they once were. So, what is the determining factor when considering if welfare is working or not?
