Does anyone know of an uplifting poem by Emily Dickinson that would relate to Walt Whitman's poems? Most of Emily Dickinson's poems are pretty sad and they mull over subjects such as death, grief, etc. In contrast, Walt Whitman wrote many poems on happiness and love, so how would I find poems by both poets that would connect to each other? Has any one read a poem about happiness in 'Being Alive' edited by Neil Astley? I can't find my copy of the book, but it's a poem about how happiness catches you unexpectedly, does any one know what it's called? I am actually just looking for this particular poem, not for any old poem thanks. Actually surprising how people continue to write rubbish rather than answer the question, or admit they don't know and go away.

What poems or lyrics best capture this mood? The person you loved more than anything is gone and you're all alone in the world. You want to be with them more than anything, but since you can't, suicide is the way out. Rather than suicide being viewed as a bad thing, its shown as a peaceful way of finding happiness. Or just a poem or song about losing love and committing suicide in general.

Fading love and happiness poem. What do you think? A girl sits and wonders what has happened over the years- The dreams and the happiness the love and the passion. We dreamed about our future and now we have only the past Your like a stone wall, too tall to climb I dont know what to do with your silent self. To stay or to leave, its so sad to think Hopeless and defeated-theres nothing more to say. A man one time happy, now depressed- What can i do, to cause you bliss. well whether people like it or not, poetry is supposed to be what your feeling. thanks guys! :)

Does anyone know a site with great poems? There was this site where I visited about 3 months ago. It had this great love poem wherein the poet expressed his grief and pain. The problem is I forgot the name of the site. I don't think the site had that much of classical poetry because, well, I can actually understand them! (Excuse me for being poor in literature... lol). And the site didn't only have poetry about love. It had a collection of different genres like friendship, happiness, peace and all those other stuff.

Which of my short poems is the best? I'm a 15 year old girl, who likes to write short poems/journal entries..Which one of these do you think is the best?..If any. FAKE ORIGINALITY (Poem 1) "Be yourself. Be original. Be unique. Be non-conforming." If everyone is saying this, then doesn't that defeat the whole purpose? CONFESSIONS OF A HEART-BREAKER (Poem 2) Come close to me. Share my heartbeat. Whisper in my ear. Give me your love. Now, watch me take it all and run. I wont look back. ALL ABOUT LOVE (Poem 3) Love is a powerful thing. It FASCINATES millions. It DESTROYS millions. It CONTROLS millions. It HEALS millions. And above all these, Love is eternal. TRUE HAPPINESS (Poem 4) Rich people. Poor people. They are both in need. Just in different ways. Complete satisfaction is the most difficult thing to gain.

What does the poem "Happiness" by Michel van Walleghen mean? Poem: "Happiness," by Michael Van Walleghen, from In the Black Window: New and Selected Poems. © University of Illinois Press. Happiness Weep for what little things could make them glad. —Robert Frost, "Directive" Melvin, the large collie who lives in the red house at the end of my daily run is happy, happy to see me even now, in February— a month of low skies and slowly melting snow. His yard has turned almost entirely to mud— but so what? Today, as if to please me, he has torn apart and scattered everywhere a yellow plastic bucket the color of forsythia or daffodils . . . And now, in a transport of cross-eyed muddy ecstasy, he has placed his filthy two front paws together on the top pipe of his sagging cyclone fence— drooling a little, his tail wagging furiously, until finally, as if I were God's angel himself— fulgent, blinding, aflame with news of the Resurrection, I give him a biscuit instead. Which is fine with Melvin— who is wise, by whole epochs of evolution, beyond his years. Take what you can get, that's his motto . . . And really, apropos of bliss, happiness and the true rapture, what saint could tell us half as much? Even as he drops back down into the cold dog-shit muck he'll have to live in every day for weeks on end perhaps unless it freezes . . . whining now, dancing nervously as I turn away again, to leave him there the same today as yesterday— one of the truly wretched of this earth whose happiness is almost more than I can bear.
"Happiness, long-deferred, is deferred again." What do you think it means? This is taken from a poem that I am reading and am trying to translate. Here's the poem...Daily the wind-flowers age, and so do I. Happiness, long-deferred, is deferred again. Of sand and ocean, the horizon line lies in the middle distance of the dream. Because our lives cannot be woven together, my fingers plait the same grassers, over and over.

which poems should i submit to my school's literary magazine? (critiques/suggestions are appreciated, too)? i am only allowed to submit up to three. i can't pick between my five. what's your opinion? ------------------------------------------ poem#1: here i am, world I’m waist deep in excuses and questions without answers people without faces neck-deep in what could have been what should have been what i can’t change and my voice is muffled by smiles that have lost their meaning and shallow sighs white lies I want to scream to the universe feel life in my veins the air in my lungs for once I want heartbreak euphoria pride and shame and love and everything in between I want to hold a child watch the sunrise pull a trigger. I want to put a message in a bottle “you are beautiful.” i want to be worthy of passionate love and passionate hate embrace my enemies tell them “I’m okay.” I want to say “here I am, world” ------------------------------------------------------ poem #2: orphan child Hand in hand we’ll walk a mile through the crooked city by the sea The dawn that breaks competes with pretty smiles of ladies walking down the pebbled beach The dewdrops in the rising sun beguiles the footsteps of the rising summer heat the children in the church pews dreamt of wild adventures and forbidden legacies girls in black dresses whispered as they filed onto the bitter hardness of the street The flowers on the marble aid the vile cunning of the murder that we breathe listen to the song of the orphan child and you'll remember how she came to be ------------------------------------------------------- poem #3: get a taste of it Taste the chlorine-bleached pool all those cans of store-bought lemonade and that lazy lazy smell of summer. the way your memories form and fade, distracted and in fragments the way you laughed and cried. the physics classes and church pews taste the weight of gravity that Newton calculated, logical and mathematical and downright frustrating, the unforgivable mistakes it caused us to make and the way God forgave them. now Taste the hot wind that traps this town inside itself. see that woman choking on the dust? taste it the way she does, all dry and bitter and suffocating like her dead husband that brought her to this place. now taste the imperfections love and loss and shame, that sense of possibility that you ignite. Taste how the sunrise feels to the cancer Survivor taste the intimacy blind trust and forgiveness that brought these two people their sixty years of happiness. ------------------------------------------------------------------- poem #4: the astronomer's wife The trail of planets glowing on your ceiling there are nine, alien and serene and celestial. Pluto is not too far away now, laughing in defiance, the way you do in the face of life. How I would love to have your humor. How I would love to have every piece of you, broken and mixed up and unloved how I would piece them back together the masterpiece that you are. On God's canvas, you may be a dot but on mine, you are the world. --------------------------------------------------------------------- poem #5: smile You’re hiding something behind that smile a Secret, maybe that settled overnight on the unsuspecting petals of your conscience. Wise and intriguing and bittersweet anything but innocent a Poison, maybe that slowly spread like cancer softly numbing discreetly killing. no doubt I’ve fallen for it many times, I loved how my death tasted, thick and warm and honey-sweet. a Hope, maybe that I’ve filed away long ago somewhere between “naive” and “impractical”. You found it because you knew better, all those dreams about being loved, that’s what you loved about me. thanks for taking the patience to read them. offer me anything: advice, critiques, suggestions, thoughts and you don't have to pick 3. if there is just one of them that stuck out to you, tell me which one.
What kind of hope does this poem convey? Happiness? Being content to many it seems is not enough, So,you lie, cheat and steal when life is tough. Oh yeah the joker cries, his eyes bugged out ,wild, Pity the fool.move on, a reason to smile. Happiness elusive, always dreaming of schemes, Ask God tell us,what does this mean? It means the apples been eaten,we have the seeds, Maybe this hope is all that we need. Don't need another, walking away, Left alone,a reason to pray. I walk away, only God by my side, Have just joy,no reasons to cry. Writing poems, they were such fun, I go away happy,I am all done. T.B.O. Bless you all,,,byeeexxx!!!

Laws are not necessary for happiness? I am doing a research paper on the topic of laws not being necessary for happiness (assigned, not my own idea), and I basically need to find sources to back it up. So far I've thought of psychology stuff on the definition of happiness, biographies of people who are happy without any laws being involved, and also the novels The Dollhouse, The Alchemist, and Snow Falling on Cedars. Any other suggestions (plays, movies, songs, poems, journals, historical documents, etc.)?
Can You tell me if this poems uses proper grammer? Your voice For this moment I am enraptured By the feeling of being perfectly calm. The world around me, is at a stand still And I am at peace. The gentle tickle of your words Echo though my ears I listen intently. To me, your voice is like a symphony. Your words are the notes, And your breath is the rhythmic melody. They flow together in absolute harmony I am captivated by the sweet sounds. My whole body is overtaken With a sense of happiness And Love.

Cruel Happiness.....(poem about pursuing happiness)? Sorrows come, And sorrows go, The tears that fall, Are sad I know, But here in this moment, I reach out my hand, Greedy I may seem, But don’t you understand? Sorrows come, In an abundance of pain, But denying yourself, Only adds to the rain, Happiness is limited, That’s why I hold tight, I can’t control the sadness. It’s too much of a fight, In holding true to myself, By reaching out my hand to you, Happiness can be found, If only between, us two… ~end

metaphors or personification for happiness? i am writing a quality poem on happiness and cant think of any more metaphors, similies, or personification. please help???
What do you think of my happiness poem? Happiness is a state of mind ‘tis said and mine is in a state. The reason for this state of mine is simple to relate. There was this girl you see upon whom I was intent, It appeared as if our relationship was hot and heaven sent. We wined and dined and loved each other, of that I'm very sure. The future sparkled brightly like the diamond ring she wore. But then for various reasons I am reluctant to report, She left me for another—disappeared without a thought! The first I knew she’d gone away was a letter on the table, “I have found another man,” it said, ‘twas signed “Your loving Mabel.” I couldn’t understand the sub-text to this tersely written note, For if she’d found another, “Your loving Mabel” she would revoke. Sadly the happiness I thought was here until the day I die, Has melted like the ice cream on top of a hot mince pie.

Please comment on this poem- Happiness? had posted this one earlier, but it didn't get much comments...its lil bit modified- HAPPINESS -Snickers Happiness is the feeling That brings a smile on every face It is the colorful butterfly Which every person tends to chase. Happiness is a butterfly Sometimes it shrinks, sometimes it grows It goes wherever it pleases And it pleases wherever it goes If you chase this butterfly As quick as a wink, away it goes But turn your mind to something else And see it rest upon your nose...
What are some good, deep, friendship poems???(10 POINTS)? I want some friendship poems that make you wanna cry of happiness or laugh of joy. the best answer will be some awesome poem thanks!!!
I want to know if I should keep writing poems. Can you guys tell me what you think of this one? Gathering the Shards I heard there was something called love. So I thought maybe I could find it. I heard somewhere there was happiness. And I thought there might be some for me. But I guess I was wrong because there is no love and there is no happiness. There is only sadness blankets of sadness that weigh you down until you can never get up again. There is only a knife that sometimes, looks so friendly. But there is no friendship, only beautiful letdowns. And I thought, after I had really learned, that maybe that was the problem. Maybe that's why we're broken. Maybe that's why the glass falls in shards scattered over the world. And maybe that's why it's worth the time and the effort to pick them all up again.

Happiness.. my poem so far? I need help and advice .. syllables, stanza's etc? Happiness… What makes you smile, that turns your lips wide and high, Is it dancing freely to the sound of music Or is it being in the warmth of the sun peering from the sky? Whatever it is you have the choice to choose it Happiness is a gift, it is what we live for, To feel love and hope brings fulfilment, Only you have the key that opens the door, To your world that is yours, having no judgement Is it feeling free, and running wild, Is it reading, writing, and being creative, Or is it seeing through the eyes of a child, Feeling alive, young and energetically active
Is there any happiness like mine? ink trickles from the corners of my mouth there is no happiness like mine I’ve been eating poetry the poems are gone the light is dim a light turns on within my mind in my room its cluttered as my mind is gathered thoughts remain within bursting into words they expand ink pours out of my pen with explosion as it drips from my mouth the words begin I write continuously abruptly, miraculously and deliciously I can’t help myself my hands gripping the pen, typing keys writing is a fabulously great thing my thoughts become words the images I see enter my mind and placed onto paper the feelings are as orgasmic as they can get as the end peeks; the beginning is just as grand

I'am trying to find the interpretation of Louise Gluck poem "Happiness", can ....? anyone please tell me where I can find an interpretation
"Happiness at last". This poem is not complete, but please comment? "The unusual nature of my current mood does Not seem familiar, For what is this feeling that bothers me yet soothes The deepest cave Within the higly uneven chambers of my Mind? The illuminant Beauty strikes and beats me. For the first moment in My life, pain will not Relate along with the hard pounding in my once Hollow chest. I believe I have been touched by happiness. Deep within the eyes that once dripped tears, I saw a Tree shaded in deep Light. Buried beneath these eyes that once recorded My weeps of sorrow, I heard the sweet lullabies of the morning songbird, Dressed in a white coat. Its voice rose above the highest human pitch, Yet had a drowning depth That soothed and smoothed even the roughest portions Of my jagged heart. Its head turned to and fro in a most graceful manner That even kings would Bow to its beauty beyond comprehension. I Believe I have been Touched... By happiness." The rest of this poem is too personal and long for me to share.

What words rhyme with happiness? I need to write a christmas poem/song for my homework and I need some answers before Monday (17th November) Thanks for any help.
Happiness - a short poem? They say the best things in life are free. But, when was the last time you observed a sunrise, felt the morning rays kiss your cheeks , smelled the freedom? The autumn leaves rustling in the circles, The breeze of wind like the softest pillow, makes your skin tingle . So paint a portrait of your life in the brightest colours. Feel like a child again , full of wonder and excitement. Innocence and everlasting love. Lay your head down and smell the flowers, Roses are in bloom and you can almost feel it. The sand between your toes , the soft waves crashing into the shore. The seagulls flying high , the kids making a sand castle. Happiness : An absence of all negative emotion, Daily life , stress and commotion.
Is this a good poem? cry of happiness not sadness? i love the rain that falls on my face but than why don't i like tears? because i know i'm out there having fun and happy but inside i'm torn up ,sad and unhappy you shed in tears when ur sad and somethimes when ur happy but most times unhappiness strikes and you cant help it but cry and cry maybe just maybe intil you fall asleep!!!♥ someone wrote it to me!
Does anyone know the name of the poet that wrote "Sadness never dies, happiness does"? I think it was a brazilian poet and it may be part of a longer poem. Also, I don't know if I have it exact. thanx in advance
Woman like poems like this one that I wrote? AND YOU ASK ME AND YOU ASK ME HOW I FEED MY SOUL HOW MY HAPPINESS BLOOMS HOW I PERFUME MY GARDEN LET ME ANSWER YOU I FEED MY SOUL WITH YOUR SMILE IT BLOOMS WHENEVER YOU CARESS ME I PERFUME IT WITH YOUR AROMAS AND YOUR YOU ASK ME HOW CAN YOU FEED YOUR SOUL HOW CAN YOU BLOOM YOUR HAPPINESS HOW CAN YOU PERFUME YOUR GARDEN LET ME ANSWER YOU YOU CAN FEED YOUR SOUL WITH MY POEMS BLOOM YOUR HAPPINESS WITH MY TENDER CARESSES BUT LOVE, YOU MUST PERFUME YOUR OWN GARDEN BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING MORE DELICIOUS THAT THE FRAGANCE OF YOUR NAKED SOUL
Why are times of despair and sadness so long, while happiness and joy come only in short bursts? There is an old Arabic poem I was looking at a while ago - I found this statement to be true... maybe others don't... Good times are short lived - bad times last a long time...
Another one of those heartbreak poems for those who haven't found anyone. What do you think? It's written for women who have yet to find their husband, but can easily just be switched at the end and made for other scenarios. I don't have a title (open to suggestion) All around me I see the epitome of what I desire The gifts god has given, eternal love like a raging fire I see happiness and the loss of so much fear Knowing all I have are sadness and quite commonly tears So unbearable, I try to hide, questioning my beliefs And nobody’s running after me, nobody’s soothing my grief Kisses and hugs and “I love you”’s send chills down my back Because I know how bad that hurts to lack I’ve wished and I’ve tried, I’ve prayed and I’ve cried, Yet I still sit alone and weak, waiting for my dream to come true Hoping another person out there is waiting too I try not to dwell, and I try to live my life Wishing someday I’ll be somebody’s wife To make happy, to trust, to love, to die for To do all those things and oh so much more I live for the day that I can say “I love you” and not get turned away
Please comment on this poem- "HAPPINESS"? HAPPINESS Happiness is the feeling That brings a smile on every face It is the colorful butterfly Which every person tends to chase. Happiness is that butterfly Which rests upon the newest rose It goes wherever it pleases And it pleases wherever it goes If you chase this butterfly As quick as a wink, away it goes But turn your mind to something else And see it rest upon your nose...
Are these poems good for a 12 year old? Are these poems good for a 12 year old? they may be just a tad bit depressing but im not emo... tell me about what i should change about them because ive asked my friends and they probably have a lot of bias. there probably are some mispellings here they are-- Poem #1 I see nothing around me brighter than the night sky I see nothing darker than my heart Anger is always stronger than happiness no matter how hard you try Discontent is constantly present while happiness can tear you apart A person's sins define them better than their prudence People act more like themsel ves in their negative side rather than their good Ethical behavior is loyalty to peers; ira is allegiance There is a clear difference from what you want to and what you should You say things just to make people satisfied You do things that do fit you Speaking your thoughts is the only way to be glorified Things you say ab ira are always true Compliments are only to please Insults are to vent Compliments are a tease Insults take time well spent People are just a combination of actions and events The mind is just the way a person has been raised to believe A soul is a myth which misrepresents Integrity is something hard to retrieve There is no one I can trust When people change positions with every turn The resplendence of the world has been corrupted so much it is beginning to rust Unity is something everyone has to yearn Hypocrisy is the international religion Words said from guilt are a forced persuasion Faith in the world has reduced to a smidgen Opinions are the weighted part of the equation Yet street lights have illuminated the darkness Lights such as friends, feelings, and personal view From enjoying too much the world has abdominousness All of the things discarded from our minds are things that are true People do things to improve their image In order to appear be something they are not But appearing to be something just to please is just the line of scrimmage Showing up to be satisfy is the thing that has made everyone rot I have adapted not to think too much I care not what people say about me but do what they say to who I love Due to the fact that those people are my crutch The world has grown to be something I have grown to be sick of. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Poem #2 Life happens so suddenly One second u have someone the next they’re gone But does actually being there mean anything really? Left to think, left to wonder, left to question from d usk to dawn I feel as if no one can aid It strengthens and I am left to move along alone A feeling of wholesomeness is left for one to crave But it always feels as if the road I travel is incident prone Stars illuminate the gloom filled skies Sorrowful surroundings appreciated by joyous constellations A man that smiles when everyone around him cries You make my incarceration a vacation Nothing seemed controllable; to frustrated to cry I tore myself up to start over for a reason unknown I felt as if no one could light up my sky But when I talked to you I felt sewn I start to wonder what brought me here What waves carried me this far and which waves hurt me this much But situations are never as they appear In the end it never matters if I fall because I know I have you as my crutch My outlook varies One second the be ach is dirty, the next sparkling A man=2 0is only as good as the weight he carries When I’m with you I feel subordinate and as though you are the master I am serving. When solitary emotions are nothing more than apathy But as soon as I talk to you I change completely If you were any other no one would comprehend me because you are filled with empathy To everyone else I act so bitterly, but to you I come off sweetly When I have lost everything I want When I have lost grip of the rope At least I know I will be nonchalant Because I know that I still have you which means I still have hope. ____________________________________________________ Poem #3 As the blasts if which I have become accustomed to chime clamorously, I gaze through the transparent doorway between glee and agony, Blind I must be because I lack the mind to see what some say the horrible country before me. To me it has become very evident that of America, ignorance, not Bush is the president. People have been led to think America is ideal however some history is not fully real. In America, many doughnuts have been coated with false truths with which America has floated. My country invaded and torn the assumed radical is the symbol with which the rest scorn, But in attempting to lighten, another predicament has been born. Lofty dreams fall far from the face far enough to keep me from my chase, My chase to truth, a chase to make opinions facts and false facts a fruit with whom fruit lacks. The deterioration of our society has yet to be seen for the eyes of Westerners are all but keen. 0AAmerica is a drunk man driving bursting into unfamiliar territory, unaware of the consequences arriving. As politicians attempt to gain recognition as athletes strive to achieve apperception as salespersons push people profusely to buy food that is not even fresh as celebrities rot their own flesh, The binoculars seem to miss the wild species we are too caught up in our absurdities. The shark is all caught up in its own struggle to get food to satisfy, While other fish are struggling aimlessly just to get by. There is nothing to hold on too Everything so dear has left, there’s nothing left to put you through. The sea is deceiving, fish come and go, it seems no one is left to care for you, All this time an Iraqi is facing the same predicament as this fish. Everyone so involved in a struggle with which she plays no part It is hard for anyone to see that she too has a heart. Not just a heart, one that has not been involved in the war But one that has received every wound that someone has wore. Though both sides feel the pain One has the technology to make a medicine; the other doesn’t even have a cane. A cane that is much needed when there is nothing to hold on to, When you have been traumatized by the accident caused by the drunk man driving out of the blue. Conflict in war is similar to oneself versus one’s mind One side is trying to trump the other the other is just blind. And so I sit here frightened, but free of fear, Because danger is always so near and conflicts have yet to be resolved with a tear.

Does this poem represent the opposite of darkness and angst? Supposed to write something that shows happiness? My Alter World The world is not mad, no voices converse Sanity is not a thing I rehearse My mind doesn’t wander through unearthly miles My mouth doesn’t long for poisonous vials My dad is not buried, and I’m not undead No one is waiting to mess with my head I am not scarred or bleeding today My heart simply weightless, no fear to convey My arms do not know a straight jackets hug I’ve not been discarded by merely a shrug Free to be sane and cherish my friends Free to find someone whose love never ends Free to explore and discover myself No knowledge of poisons found on a shelf A daddy to love and to take care of me Soft silky skin that others can see Headstrong and smart, as clear as a bell Fearful of nothing, no secrets to tell Someone to hug who will not pull away and someone who loves me and wants me to stay This is the world I find in my dreams A world where reality is not what it seems
What do you think of these 4 tiny "poems"? "Truth" God's voice Longingly crawls Through The grass. "Happiness" We are all Just peaches To the Hungry earth. "Love" Only an "and" Lies between You "and" I. "Texture" Callouses could Be easily Mistaken for Silk.

I'm on the beach watching the beautiful clear blue sea. I realize it's you that was meant for me. I see flowers, the bright gazing sky. To be with you as the days go by. I see amazing clouds, birds churping and smell of fresh air. I see a world, with peace, no troubles or fear. Lets live here forever, and together we'll share. Love, happiness, joy and peace, promise me you'll never leave. I'll promise to be here with you throuugh thick and thin. Be there for you until the end. Rate my poems 1 to 10? I wrote a few poems. care to rate them? here they are.. (no title) Whatever goes thru my mind whenever i'm feeling sad, I think about you. I can deal with all the bothers because the only thing that matters, it's being with you. but if only you knew how much I care about you. everything i do, relates to you. every word I say, every thought i have But I have nothing else to do but to wish that you could notice me too. But whatever happens my true feelings for you, will always be the same i will always love you. I belong to you. "You are the one": The feeling of sadness the feeling of darkness gave me no hope for happiness. I was lost and lonely and I couldn't believe it when I met you. Because you're the one who makes me think anything is possible. You are the one who makes me believe I can rise above any obstacle. You are the one who makes me realize love is invincible By the two of us nothing is impossible. You are the one anybody else is unthinkable "A Thousand Pieces": The stars light up the dark at night but for me everything around remains dark. Because every minute you are not around, my heart is broken into a thousand pieces. Even when the sun shines, for me the dark i still alive; for me, light does not exist. Because deep inside my heart, there is still something missing. My heart is broken into a thousand pieces, every minute you are not around. For me there is only one way to survive: combine the thousand pieces of my heart, into one and light up the dark; light up my life: finally you are by my side.
What is an example of personification for the color Red? One that describes love or happiness. Or I just need help with a color poem that is about the color red....has to have two similies, two metaphors, and two personifications, and 14 lines.
Beginning a compare/contrast essay (of two poems) with a QUESTION? so what do you think of starting an analytical essay with a question? For example, "Is it possible to experience true happiness, innocence, and truth without first experiencing sadness, decit, and evil? Many philosophers and people alike believe it is not possible. By the composition of two books of poetry, "Songs of Innocence" and "Songs of Experience," William Blake ultimately proves that happiness can only be established with the experience of choas in the world.... Is that a bad way to start the essay comparing the poems "The Lamb" and "The Tyger"
Your wisdom? Happiness: what is it??? Oh and also, what's love????I' m grieving for an ex-lover and i dont know how long it'll take. how long did it take? in any experience? actually i guess it's not "officially over". wish i had closure. but why be disappointed? yeah he's gone!!!!!!!!! here are some pieces taken out of two poems i wrote last night. hope they describe how i feel: "...but where's my heart without a rhyme......... Maybe tomorrow when i say the game's over, I'll vanish like mist and out of sight. It's like a trial all lost like dust!...." "...Though adoration’s over-rated, It thrives in gardens fine. Divine the happiness which may fade. My heart was foolish, fearless. One of many. Pray my way of sweet declaring, Baffle no soul...."
do you think theses are good poems? i'm want to enter my poems for a competition, do you think either of these are okay and any tips? Heart Burn The curdling and piercing flame within Flickering in shades of scarlet and orange Gnaws at the edges of a beating organ Contorting every pulse and taunting it into shame A pair of eyes fuels and electrifies the fire within Causing a rush of light headed energy to surge through the bodice Labour no longer has meaning and pain almost non existent Eternal happiness appears to be in reach Yet something causes the blaze to sear with rage Scorching and singeing at the now pleading heart Each pulse now a shiver or tremble Beautiful Bird I lay my head upon your soft feathered back, immense and blanched you soar , across an immaculate nights sky My heart is weeping silently and your warmth sooths its scars I cling onto hope, freedom and dignity I grasp pleading to flee the malicious claws of rejection You soar and sweep down, and gently glide through the sky I am slowly drifting away, unfathomable Beautiful bird, do you feel pain too? Beautiful bird, do you have a companion? I can’t see why you should ever have to shed a tear Beautiful bird, lead me away from this gnawing fear You bathe in a foamy and fluffy congregation of delicate clouds The wind whispers delicate sweet nothings into your ears In darkness, you stream through tiny white crystals scattered in a black sky And visit a glowing moon’s pallid and graceful face
I want a tattoo that symbolizes that I am a survivor. Any ideas? I have had many adversities in my life. And, I want to celebrate my health and happiness in a permanent way. I want to get a modest tattoo that symbolizes survival or hope. Something perhaps to do with faith - but I am not too religious. Any suggestions? Maybe an animal or symbol? It could even be a picture that resembles a phrase in a poem or something. Matthew, you are a tool.

Sitting on the hood of my car, With the music playing inside, Just relaxin look at the sky, The stars are like pictures of us, cause everytime i look at them.. It reminds me of our good times.. playing in front of ur house, smiling and laughing, i didn't kno happiness had a price, with not having enough to pay the tab, i paid for ur love with my tears.....

For DEEP THINKERS! What do you think are the most important elements of Romantic poets? "They say that Hope is happiness" by Lord Byron, "Expostulation and Reply" by Wordsworth, and "The Pains of sleep" by Coleridge are the 3 poems I am studying. I am contrasting which of the authors show the greatest Romanticism elements within their writing.
