It was part of the evidence supplied to the government. Youth offending teams have to turn in monthly data returns to the government covering all activity from prevention to custody . . . in terms of preventing re-offedning and addressing the causes of offending, custody comes out bottom every time and the sentences are nowhere near as low as the press would have you believe.

I found in a fitness magazine that they have personal trainer classes that lead to certification. It's a woman's magazine dedicated to "politics, lifestyle, and finance." It has success stories of women who have followed their dreams and done what they've wanted to with their lives. It discusses current world issues and events. I think it's fantastic. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend it. As I understand, it's fairly new (last couple of years, I believe). How can my local magazine combat a new rival magazine that's backed by millions with a mission to put me out? Here is the Skinny. I have a magazine that I started and it now has about 50 advertisers. When I started it, the local media (who compete for the same ad dollars) was in support. Kind of a go ahead and try it, laugh it off, ill never make it thing. Well now that I have printed one each month for over a year and got my client list up, they are pissed. "They" is the newspaper. It is owned by a larger company that has nearly twenty newspapers across the country. So, im cutting into their market share and the head office tells the local paper here to launch a magazine. It can be said they did it as a good business move but honest truth is my publication was targeted. (People who work there told me they have meetings where my magazine is the focus and the big boss is always coming in for them.) There magazine doesn't have my quality but they have a huge sales force and money to back it up, they can afford to print thicker, pay more employees to get content and even loose money if they have to. I started mine with nothing and do not have much reserve capital. I have ran my cost close to revenue to make sure the magazine is always as good as possible (Pages, number of issues, etc.) The lower quality is being turned into a marketing tool, lol actually clever here, they are calling it the "Older generations magazine" and trying to make it out like mine is for kids. Which it isnt. I just have have fresh and modern graphic design and layouts. There sales people are bad mouthing my publication, under cutting my prices and targeting my clients. I ran a fake ad with a cell number just to see if they would call... they did. So, while I can do the whole, "Just keep making a good magazine and stay positive" thing, I was hoping someone would have a few ideas. I even tried to think of a movei where something like this happened in an effort to emulate the success of the underdog chericter but I can't think of one lol. Any ideas? (P.S. I promise I am not just crying about competition. This is really a dirty game here.) I love capitalism! I am just looking for some stratagie here!

is the Ring Magazine biased against Cotto? Cotto was no. 9 rank behind Nonito Donaire, Vic Darhcinyan, and Rafael Marquez and Israel Vasquez (guys who have been out as long as Floyd Mayweather) above Cotto. WTF? Now, Cotto is no. 8, the same guy who beat Mosley, and only lost once, which was controversial because of Margarito perhaps using illegal hand wraps. Cotto never ducked anybody, he never talk trash nor brag about his success or winning all their fights like Mayweather (lost to Castillo) or Marquez (lost to Pacquiao twice and Chris John kicked his biatch ass). He never disrespected any boxer. He fighst with heart and honor, and people judge him for not beating the hell out of underrated Clottey. Clottey was losing the first three rounds and Cotto clearly was imapcted by the head butt after the third. But Cotto kept his composure and won by points if round by round are measured. Cotto can beat the hell out of Clottey anytime, I guarantee two knockdowns atleast or a knock out if they ever fight again. Cotto is disrespected because the Ring magazine wants to hype Mosley so Mosley can fight Pacquiao. Ring Magazine after all is owned by Goldern Girl Promotions under the leadership of Oscar Gay la Hoya. Mark and Sean G, Do you guys really think that Darchinyan and Nonito Donaire is above Cotto pound for pound. And guys like Rafael Marquez and Israel Vasquez who hasnt fought in over a year (been out almost as long as Mayweather) are above Cotto pound for pound? I agree that Mosley is better overall than Cotto, but I wouldnt rank these guys above Cotto pound for pound! I mean Nonito only won one known fight against a superstar and that is Darchinyan, after that, really none. Plus Cotto has a much better record. You can put one artist or band on the cover, and a feature article inside the issue will be dedicated to this artist/band. The artist/band must be one whose success reflects the 2000s in a clear and significant way (exactly how, however, is up to you)--so it doesn't matter if you love, say, KISS or Pearl Jam, they obviously are not suitable candidates. Which artist/band would you choose? Why? I would choose Gorillaz, the "cartoon band" co-created by former Blur vocalist Damon Albarn and graphic artist Jamie Hewlett. For one, Gorillaz are a rare band who have achieved a great deal of mainstream success (with singles such as "Clint Eastwood" and "Feel Good Inc.") without sacrificing their artistic edge. The worlds of Mainstream Music and Underground, Word-of-Mouth-Driven Music have often collided this decade, with the advent and popularization of blogs and the MP3, and I see the most positive aspects of this collision in what Albarn and Hewlett have achieved with Gorillaz. Gorillaz also have a diverse and unique sound--it's the most obvious plus of not being a "real" band, as many musicians and artists as Albarn and Hewlett can wrangle can be a part of the four-piece cartoon band. What other group could bring together so many disparate talents, from De La Soul to Dennis Hopper to Ike Turner to DOOM? Gorillaz are alternative, they are electronic, they are pop, they are rap, they are World Music. Again, it's the colliding of various styles and disciplines--it's the sense of discovery and the world being both larger and smaller. How to help remote family (relatives) with two kids and not much money that are all severely over weight? We send a little money to help make ends meet and it has helped. The grade school kids are responding to some tutoring. Now for the health problems: Mom 28, dad 30, both at least 50lbs over ideal. Kids- girls- age 6 and 7, already at least 30 lbs over. We know lots of healthy tips, but most cost money. They live in a large metro area in Michigan, so shopping should be OK except for good produce in the winter. I think they just buy the convenience food on sale, like cheap pizza, etc. From my view maybe starting with "how to cook", or "how to read labels" books, or maybe pick a meal and give them improvement ideas- ie breakfast tips. Background, our magazine has been in development for a year, we're ready to approach a test market in Greenwich Village/NYU/East Village area, each magazine will have a reader survey so we can identify the main demographic that would be interested in our publication, then we can properly choose the right distribution channel to approach. Dumb Criminals. Star If You Like? DUMB CRIMINALS Real Crimes Committed By Dumb Criminals Chicago: A man was wanted for throwing bricks through jewelry store windows and making off with the loot. He was arrested last night after throwing a brick into a Plexiglas window...the brick bounced back, hit him in the head and knocked him cold until the police got there. Portsmouth, RI: Police charged Gregory Rosa, 25, with a string of vending machine robberies in January when he: 1. fled from police inexplicably when they spotted him loitering around a vending machine and 2. later tried to post his $400 bail in coins. When Stan Caddell wanted to wash his Chevrolet, he backed the car into a foot of water in the Mississippi River at Hannibal, Missouri. When he got out to clean the car, it floated away. Police were able to retrieve the vehicle some distance downstream. According to an officer on the scene, no action would be taken against the driver because "you can't ticket a guy for being stupid..." Kentucky: Two men tried to pull the front off a cash machine by running a chain from the machine to the bumper of their pickup truck. Instead of pulling the front panel off the machine, though, they pulled the bumper off their truck. Scared, they left the scene and drove home. With the chain still attached to the machine. With their bumper still attached to the chain. With their vehicle's license plate still attached to the bumper. A bank robber in Bumpus, Tenn., handed a teller the following note: "Watch out. I wrote a funny novel, created oodles of characters and have tons of one liners. Which way to succeed?? This book is about the swamp, without divulging any further, it would be a great Pixar movie (the one they haven't got to yet) or a 150 page cartoon book filled with one-panel one-liners. It could go for a 300 page novel, a cartoon strip or weeklies in magazines, plus there could be unlimited merchandising opportunities. What is the most effective way to manage my time and resources so that this project can be a success?

How does one control their laugh factor...? while getting a pedicure? It's so difficult for me to NOT laugh while the nail/beauty tech is doing their work.
