Entrepreneurship may not really be applicable in a public sector context because? a. entrepreneurship entails the pursuit of opportunity that can serve to redirect the strategic course of an organization, potentially putting it in conflict with the stated mission or mandate of the public sector organization b. public sector entrepreneurship (bureaupreneurship) exists in limited, hybrid forms and is unrelated to and radically different than private sector entrepreneurship c. all public sector systems are inherently efficient and public sector entrepreneurship would serve no useful purpose. d. entrepreneurship runs counter to the entrenched public sector bureaucratic "protect the status quo," "not my job" culture e. despite numerous potential entrepreneurial sightings in the public sector, the public sector entrepreneur may not exist since no public sector entrepreneur has been identified to date.
Should I shift from BS Entrepreneurship to BS Psycholoogy? I am currently a freshman in college taking up BS Entrepreneurship. I just finished my first semester and I realized that I was not really satisfied with my course choice. I feel like I want something more. My current course, entrepreneurship, requires alot of units in Mathenmatics, which I really suck at. I can't make myself love math for some reason. I chose this course in the first place because I can minor in Fashion Technology, which I really like. But, now I am thinking of shifting to Psychology. I took a Psychology class in my first semester and I found it very interesting and I loved it. I fell in love with it. I got a high grade of 4.0 in my pre-final grade. I'm still confused though if I should shift courses because I also like to study Fashion Technology and I really like my classmates and blockmates in BS Entrepreneurship. I'm scared that if I shift to Psychology, I would regret shifting because I don't know what's in store for me there, but on the other side, I am also scared that I would regret not shifting, because I really enjoyed Psychology. I am so confused. October 14 is coming up and that will be the day that they will release the shifting forms, October 25 would be the enrollment for the second semester. Please suggest or comment, thanks!

What are a few characteristics that differentiate an entrepreneur from an enterprising? Alright well, for my entrepreneurship course, I've been given an assignment which requires me to create a chart outlining the similarities and differences between an entrepreneur and an enterprising person. I've already accumulated characteristics which are similar between the two, and I've also already come up with a few differences, but I need a few more. Thanks in advance! (: *Edit: Just realized I left out a word in the question; I meant *enterprising person.

I'm worried that if I take a college course (such as Entrepreneurship), it will affect my chances of getting into a good University. Please help!!!

Best UK Universities For Business Management/Entrepreneurship Degrees? I'm looking to do a business management/entreprenuership degree at university in about a year and a half's time, but I am unsure about which ones I should take a look at as so many uni's offer business courses. I'm a standard A-Level student (Predicted A's and B's), which rules out the elite, and I don't want to be more than a couple of hours from home (live in Leicestershire), which rules out Scotland, Wales and anything below London. So, any recommendations?
What is the best AP course for business? I am going to take an online AP course because of the lack of AP courses my school offers. I was wondering, I want to study Entrepreneurship in college and was wondering what AP course would be best for this as a senior in high school. Thanks!
Is college totally necessary for an aspiring entrepreneur? Lately, I have been frustrated about college in general. I mean, you pay thousands of dollars, only to graduate and be so in debt, you wouldn t be able to start a business. I am a management major and plan to pursue entrepreneurship, but along with it are pointless courses like calc 2 and some religious crap and I just don t see the point. There are so many successful entrepreneurs either without a college degree or those who have degrees but werent trained in entrepreneurship specifically. ANy thoughts?
How much detail is there to learn about large business operations? I am asking becuase I have an associates in business administration and going for a B.B.A now and wondering if I should continue to major in something like entrepreneurship or management and possibly continue repeating the same basics of a business specifically a small business , My hope is that there will be more detail like analysis and more specific logistics. Or am I better off getting a bachelors in Economics or marketing to gain more prespectives. I just dont want to continue with the same stuff I learned in all my intro business courses.
Finance vs Entrepreneurship Major.? Im on my first year of studying business management in one of universities (Ryerson) here in Toronto, Canada, First when i entered the university i was planning on studying Finance or Accounting but now im interested in Entrepreneurship Major. I'm also a photographer and i have always had a dream of opening my own photography business. I have been talking to my friends and everyone and they tell me that i will be better of studying Finance than Entrepreneurship because there is more money in Finance and i can't really get a decent job for Entrepreneurship Major. I know a lot of people here are in the workplace and know better about this. How true is that? I started the first year with 6 courses and now im down to 4 (had to drop 2) due to heavy workload and on the other 4 courses i'm getting 50's and 60's. It's not that im dumb or i dont get the stuff, i just thought i could do good on the midterms just by studying few days before the test but i was wrong. I started studying 2 days before the exam and that's why i screwed up my midterm marks. But im trying to study hard and get a decent mark on my final exam. Well this isn't related to the question i asked. Just wanted to share the first 3 months of my university experience.

Who has switched their major during their senior year of college? How did it affect you? It's my first semester of my senior year, and I did a minimal major switch. I went from Entrepreneurship to Human Resource Management. The course work is closely related, and I will still graduate on time. I have no idea if I'll like HR or not. I just hated my previous major and HR was the easiest to switch to. (I do have an interest in HR) I just wanted to see if anyone else has changed their major during Senior year, and how it has affected you.

"Million dollar pitch" ideas for my Entrepreneurship class? The original pitch I proposed scored an 8/10 with my class and a 3/10 with my professor. I need good, innovative ideas that could actually be used to make money. The pitch will be assigned points based on the idea’s “potential” and “innovativeness” in meeting a substantial market need, as well as the presenter’s “skill” and “confidence” in making the pitch. I will be pitching this infront of four entrepreneurs whom I have never met. I am not an entrepreneurship major this is just a course I was required to take to graduate. Thank you!!

Do you need formal training to groom dogs and cats? My brother just turned 18 and said that he'd like to become a groomer (good with dogs). Our grandma has commercial property that could be used for a business-rent free of course. How should I advise him on doing this? What steps and experience should he try to get? *Setting up the actual business will be no problem. We have entrepreneurship in our blood. So formal training (in school) IS a must? How long are typical programs in this?
Ecological entrepreneurship? I'm putting together a short course (1 week) for undergraduate students. I'd be interested in reading what any serious reader may have time to scribble on the subject. My basic plan is to break it down into 3 parts: technology (installation/sales of ecological technologies, R&D of new ecological technologies), Regulations and demand for green marketing (including legal counsel services, auditing, EIA, etc...), and ecological tourism. I'd love to read suggestions/feedback and any serious input. Thanks!

Please Help! New dog product for school project.? Please give your absolute honest advice on how to improve our product...this is only a school project but has to be as realistic as possible. It is for an entrepreneurship course. Elevator Pitch a. What is your product or service? Our product is called the Potty Mouth, and it’s a combination of an interactive voice recorder, alarm system and sensor which helps reinforce puppy and owner’s with potty training. It breaks down communication barriers between the owner and dog. The main key to this product is that it reminds the owner and the puppy at the same time that it is time to go out and do their business while at the same time positively reinforcing the puppy. How does this product work? When the alarm goes off, the recorder will call out the puppy’s name in the pre-recorded message you have recorded. Both the puppy and the owner will walk to the designated spot (either the door, by the the training pads, or the doggie door) and the sensor will pick up the signal when you both walk by it. Then the Potty Mouth will command the dog to go do its business. The Potty Mouth product also includes an introductory DVD which briefly explains how potty training work and how our product complements and instills the concepts that we value. Keep in mind that the Potty Mouth is only there to assist and reinforce the commands for both the puppy and the owner, it is not a miracle worker on its own. The puppy should be able to recognize its own name. Also, the owner should make it its responsibility to introduce these concepts for at least the first couple of days with full dedication. According to a blog on AOL, it is crucial for the owner to remember CPP (Consistancy, Persistance, and Patience). The owner is the back bone to developing the skills necessary for cooperation and obedience from the dog. There is a setting time that may go off depending on how often the owner wants it to go off. For example, every 15 min., hr, or 2hrs, etc.

I am a business major but need career suggestions. Entrepreneurship? I have just completed my associates in Business and my associates in Liberal Arts. I suppose I will go on to get my bachelors in Business. But I have no idea what type of job to pursue. I would love to open my own business or even work from home but I have no idea of what type of business or where to start. I don't want to choose a business that has an over saturated market. I have seen so many businesses start strong and then fail. I do not want to do the same. So pretty much I am looking for recommendations. I am trying to avoid too many startup costs. I am looking to open a business that stable and profitable of course. I am eager to learn any trade. I have thought of scrapbook stores, childrens' boutiques, etc. but I know I should think bigger. I am currently in sales and my husband is an automotive technician. We have two children and would love to maximize our time with them. Any ideas? Any success stories? Does such a career even exist?

Med student hates medicine, wants career change to business/finance, no experience though, feel stuck? Finished 1st year of med school. Had an easy time because I'm smart, learn easily and am great at taking tests. Medicine sucks though as I'm not gaining any universal skills and am far more interested in business, mainly finance and perhaps entrepreneurship one day. I have burning ambition and great desire to become wealthy and powerful. Fun and lifestyle are unimportant to me right now; I can work like hell and study or take courses on my own to make up for my... --lack of experience, here is the crux. I have strong academic credentials and stellar test scores but no practical experience outside of nerdy things like lab research and premed internship programs. I feel like I gleaned little from them and I hated doing them. I shouldn't have entered medicine but fam pressured for it, now I'm thinking I may rebel and say I've had enough. I would like to attend a top MBA school asap and ascend the ladder very quickly. Basically I'm just venting here--any career changers out there?
Please Help me select a college based on these guidelines!? Good Business School(International business, real estate, entrepreneurship) Big City State University (lower price) My current act score is 27 with 3.7 GPA. When i say good business school, i mean it will be respected all over (like NYC)
MBA or JD? Which is best for me? I have decided that returning to school is probably the best opinion for me right now. I graduated with a BA in May and have came to the conclusion that my career path does not include anything in my area currently. During the last few years as an undergrad, I seriously considered going to law school with the intent to practice Intellectual Property & Entertainment Law (I'm also a pro musician) However the more I researched, the more a MBA became more appealing. One law school book I read even said that an MBA is more "accessible" My undergrad degree was a "make your own major". I took a lot of courses in Legal studies (Business Law, Psychology of Law, etc) and some Business courses (Business & Prof. Writing, Entrepreneurship, etc) My main goal is to work in the entertainment or media industry (marketing, writing, etc.) I have not taken the GMAT or LSAT yet, however I do have LORs from professors for law school. Can they be used for business schools too? My undergrad college has a reputable MBA program, however the preresiqutes would require me to take about 24 credits of courses I don't have.
Choosing classes freshman year UK? OK, so in the UK, I'm aware that compared to the US universities, you're extremely limited in the classes you can choose to take, namely because in the UK they believe in specializing very early. So what if you chose a course, say like me Management & Entrepreneurship, and for a possible career you were looking into something like social entrepreneurship. Would you be able to choose to take a sociology / anthropology / social studies class, at least during the freshman year? or is this dependent on your university? This is not necessarily for additional joint degrees or anything.
