Where can I find a history of entrepreneurial education (timeline)? I am writing a report on the history of entrepreneurship education in the United States. Unfortunately, I have been unable to find general information about the subject (i.e. first classes and school, dates, etc.). Majority of my search results forward me to specific university sites, which is helpful, but isn't the information I am seeking. Can anyone forward me in the right direction? I appreciate the help.

How does one get involved in city reform after undergraduate education? Hi, this fall I am about to pursue a degree in finance and entrepreneurship for the next four years. Once this is done, I want to get involved in local politics to reform schools and laws on the local level as Barack Obama had done after getting his undergrad degree from Columbia. I will eventually pursue an MBA but in the downtime I want to bring reform to several poverty stricken neighborhoods and change the circumstances of people born into that. How do I go about doing that? How do I get into the politics of the local level?
What higher-education is needed to pursue a career as an International-Investor? I'm a 33 years old Business Man going to College as a fresh-man. I did some business college in the past; but I don't want to take it in count. Ok. The idea is to learn how to Invest, and Manage Private-Capital Portfolios. So I would like to learn about: Real State (Developing and Marketing). Financial/Capital Markets. Mergers and Acquisitions. Investments in Franchises. Entrepreneurship. Thanks so much for all your advice.
Looking to join military for education? I'm 16 years old and my goal in life is to be a business owner. I want to go to college for entrepreneurship. After I graduate high school, I'd like to become a Coast Guard Heliocopter pilot or an Air Force/Navy Airplane pilot. Is it possible for me to work as one of these positions while being educated and/or earning my GI Bill? Then I can serve the military, graduate college and move onto my business career. Can this work? Thanks
Why do minority groups insist on handout policies which keep them down? While minority racial and ethnic groups are busy marching, staging protests and expressing themselves, White men are quietly getting into the professions. Isnt it time for minorities to turn away from leftist advocacy groups and embrace entrepreneurship, education and higher living standards? Are these so called minority groups a hindrance to those which they claim to represent? Why does the government and these minority groups treat blacks like retards who are incapable of doing anthing for themselves? Why do blacks and other minorities support these groups which clearly portray them as idiots in need of government assistance and protection? Why are rich, educated and successful black people attacked by their own, called race traitors, or not "down" with the brothas and the sistas?
Can you tell me if my site looks attractive? Can you please tell me if my site, www.millenialforce.com looks attractive- besides what the banner says, and the fact that there is no products on it; etc.? This is a little bit of information that I need to know to decide if I should get an education in entrepreneurship, or web development.

Master in Education or MBA degree? I'm interested in starting my own language school. Although I've been teaching for 10 years, I don't have any formal teaching education, and I'm really interested in learning more about teaching methods in second language acquisition. I do have a degree in business at the undergraduate level, but I would also like to pursue an MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship and start my school. I'm at a crossroads and don't know which way to go. Help!
Would this be acceptable to use in a research paper? My topic is "Problems With Modern Education", and one of my points is that education lacks innovation, entrepreneurship, and dynamic thinking. So I wanted to use this as an opener for the paragraph: "If a doctor went to sleep 50 years ago and woke up today, nobody would allow that doctor in a hospital to do surgery. But, what about a teacher?" I'm concerned because its not really a fact or an opinion, so I don't know if its appropriate for a research paper. Let me know what you think.
Entrepreneurship classes necessary? I want to become an entrepreneur, but my university of choice doesn't have an entrepreneurship class and so I was wondering, are there any other classes I can take, like economics I heard, that is about the same as taking an entrepreneurship class? Do I need to take an entrepreneurship class to become an entrepreneur? (I am fully aware that to become an entrepreneur I need capitol. I'm talking about education on the career.)

Are we losing our American entrepreneur spirit? These days, very few people know how to fix anything in their own house. A friend of mine blew out my wife's car battery because he didn't even know how to set up jumper cables. In the 1950's, nearly every man new basic car mechanics and home repair. So much that anyone could make a living as a handy man if they chose to. Why isn't our education system promoting entrepreneurship?
Under Factors of Production...where does education come? I'm using this classification of FOP: -Land -Labour -Physical Capital -Human Capital -Entrepreneurship I understand that human capital is the stick of knowledge and skill and educated pple. But where does this education itself fall under? Would it be labour?

Social Entrepreneurship to stop Obesity!? So me and my girlfriend have decided that we are going to do a Social Entrepreneurship to stop obesity in Los Angeles and eventually California and so on. We have absolutely no knowledge about this nor where to start. I want to make a website but we have no money and no idea what type of domain to put. Since we are doing a Social Entrepreneurship, im guessing we are going to make a small amount of profit, so we cannot use a .org i believe.I would say more than 50% of the money would go to build gyms in Ghettos or where their is a lack of education and a free fitness program in any area in Los Angeles. If we are successful we will definitively spread around The United States and eventually the world! But we need help like where do we get funds to start and what type of website do we make? Basically where do we start or what are we suppose to do. We need to know if anyone could sponsor us too. We basically do not know anything about this and any help will be extremely useful and appreciated. Please help us stop obesity and educate! Thank you!

Looking for someone who runs their own small to medium sized business? Although I do run my own international software development company, I'm taking graduate classes at a top-ranked entrepreneurship program. I've interviewed fortune 50 executives, and Ernst& Young entrepreneurs of the year, but each of them is a growth oriented entrepreneur. For one of my final classes, I wanted to see about interviewing a lifestyle entrepreneur- Someone that owns their own store, works in a family business, runs a consulting group, runs a lawn service, owns a construction company, or something similar, where the owner has a few employees, and has been in business longer than two years. Does anyone know of someone who may fit this bill and may be interested in helping me out with this short survey/interview to aid in my education? If no one bites I'll just call some business up in the phonebook, but I thought this would be a fun way to connect to someone I normally wouldn't be able to come in contact with. I can do the whole thing via e-mail or a chat messenger, and I'd gladly offer up a small gift certificate to star bucks or something for whoever can help out.
How do entrepreneurs learn entrepreneurship in the first place? I've been told that enterprise is something cannot be taught. You're either business-minded or you're not. I've been raised in a family of academics, so I don't believe in knack. While people have told me that I'm bright and multitalented, there's nothing I'm good at that I didn't learn methodically from someone else and practice over a long time. Having said that, I've been interested in owning a business since I was very young. Although I'm passionate about academic research, I want to use it to create jobs and better livelihoods for other people. I don't think academics should be penniless geeks who spitefully blame the rich for the world's problems; on the contrary, I think they should get out of that campus, use their knowledge to make exciting innovations, turn those ideas into money-making ventures that benefit the greater good. Plus I've never really liked the idea of working for a boss, especially in today's economy where everything is uncertain and compromise is often demanded. I spent a year in business school but grew skeptical about its ability to provide what I really want to learn because everything was so conventional. I got hooked on Kiyosaki for awhile and tried to cross the Cashflow Quadrant by trying my luck at network marketing, but I didn't make enough money to cover my costs for the system's "business developing program" (books, audio, seminars) and promotional tools. Frankly, I've never really been interested in selling any product myself, although I've always been interested in product design, innovation, branding, and marketing strategies. My educational background is culture and communication. I'm currently a journalist by profession, but I'm really more interested in making stories happen rather than spending my life writing other people's stories. I live in a developing country where many daytime professionals have a moonlight business. I want to make the most of my background by setting up a company in the rural area, which gives people jobs that make use of their traditional skills (e.g. weaving exotic textiles, carving, making music instruments, farming, animal husbandry, fishing, making food and beverage products), combine them with modern design (e.g. collaboration with high fashion designers, contemporary interior design, international music education, modern food processing, climate change strategies etc), then package these products into an attractive brand and market them to an upscale consumer base in big cities. The money made from this business can free a lot of people from poverty and provide all sorts of needs, including decent housing, health services, sanitation, and education. While production itself is out of my expertise (and I'll hire other people to take care of that anyway), I've always been interested in drawing up a solid business plan, branding, marketing strategies, and corporate culture. I took courses in these areas in college, as well as attended seminars in my own time. I have a sizable professional network, mostly interviewees for my stories as a journalist. So taking these into account, what can I do to start learn entrepreneurship and practice the skills necessary for running my own future business?

Do you think my charity can work? I want to start a high-end, free of charge, ivy league school that teaches entrepreneurship, business, economics and Harvard class materials for kids in poor neighborhoods. It will start small with a class or two, but can grow very quickly if a lot of people will believe in it, it can transform our country better than any social service by providing levels of education to kids who can't afford to go to college. What do you think?
seeking accounting education and career advice? I'm 27 years old and had about 3 years of working experiences, two of my longest jobs are sales oriented (first one as an Insurance Agent, second one as an International sales rep). I had my undergraduate degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship (I had a cumulative 3.55 GPA) Last winter, I quit my job to prepare for the GMAT exam because I felt I need a change in my career. I would like to do something more professional and specialized, that's the reason why I've decided that I want to pursuit a Master of Science in Accountancy degree and possibly become a CPA later on. Now I'm faced with the decision to apply for schools (less prestigious) for Spring admission or to apply for schools (more prestigious) for Fall admission (most of the more prestigious schools only accept fall adimission). If I were to apply for Fall admission, that means there will be almost one year gap from now until my enrollment. I prefer to apply all schools for Fall admission and find a job in accounting-related field before enrollment to build up some experiences. But my dad, who will be paying my tuition, told me that I should apply for Spring admission because he thinks that for my age, time is really pressing and important. He doubt that I will get into those more prestigious schools and that I will find an accounting related job within the year. He also told me that he's concerned that the fact that I will be almost 30 by the time I complete the program and with little accounting job experiences, employers will less likely to hire me because of my age and lack of experiences. So he strongly suggests me to use my time more wisely and start my education asap and get back to the work force asap. I'm also very concerned about my future, since I've quit my last job for almost a year just to prepare for the GMAT, I took the test four times and my best score was 620 (verbal: 32, math: 44). It was not the most desirable score I would like to get considering the time and effort I put myself into. But I still hope somehow to get into the schools with top accounting programs, such as UT-Austin, Texas A&M, USC..etc. Am I being unrealistic here? Should I listen to my dad and apply for Spring Admission and start my education asap? Is my dad right about that "age is an important factor when accounting firms look for their candidates"? Will accounting firms such as the big 4 hire a 30 year-old for a entry-level position in auditing with MSA degree but no real accounting job experiences? what kind of jobs in accounting I can possibly get with no experiences? As the spring application deadlines are pressing, I'm forced to make a decision, but I'm so lost of what to do and even doubt that if my decision for a career change is right. Could someone with an accounting profession or even someone who does hiring in accounting firms give me some advice? I really appreciate your kindness in helping me out here.

Advice to a student pursuing business but deciding on a liberal arts education? I have a problem. I like the idea of a liberal arts school but will it have everything I need to succeed? I want to go into international business, or just business in general. I also might want to become an entrepreneur. Should I apply to strong business schools or liberal arts schools that offer no business degree at all? I know there are successful businessmen out there that received a liberal arts education and pursued business school after. Is that the best answer? Or should I look into liberal arts schools with international business/ entrepreneurship majors because technically that is what I want to do? If you have any liberal arts schools suggestions that I should look into, please tell me!! (I have a great GPA, slightly above average SAT test scores, take difficult courses, and have many leadership roles inside and outside of school, so you can suggest difficult colleges!)
Is it a bad idea to 'downgrade' my post secondary education? Please read below? I am currently enrolled at a Canadian University for a 4 year Urban and Regional Planning program at the undergraduate level and I am in first year (only been in the program for a month and a half) but I am really not enjoying it and I am really not getting good marks at all. I have a strong interest in business and starting a business but I never found a university that would accept me for business because I never got good math grades but I found a community college that is offering an Entrepreneurship and Small Business program which can be completed in 2 or 3 years but instead of a degree you get a college diploma which is a big downside. My question is, do you think I should 'downgrade' my education as some of my friends have put it? One plus side is that it will be half the cost of the tuition per year and it is half the time. But my parents are footing the bill for my tuition and they really want me to succeed in this program, partly I think because they are in real estate. How do I tell them that I need to switch programs? How do you think they will feel about me moving to a college over a university? Do you think this is a bad idea?

can entrepreneurship be taught? we are all taught to do the same thing as a kid. graduate high school and move on to college so that we have a good education and we can FIND a good job. what if more of high school was focused on business? do you think the economy would be in better shape in the future if more kids grew up knowing how to start businesses and create jobs? think about it this way. most kids go into college or graduate high school not knowing what they want to do. but what if they graduated high school business minded and knew exactly what they needed to do in college because it would benefit their business field. if more kids or people in general had a solid understanding of business do you think this would help the economy. whats your opinion on this?
Whatever happened to the spirit of entrepreneurship that America once had? Look, I know this is really, really long? But I promise you, if the title interested you, you WON’T regret reading this. So I began working at a company my grandfather “owns.” ‘I’m 17. I’m not rich, but the rest of my family is. But, I live in a wealthy area. And thus, I guess it’s important that I have “work ethic.” Working here wasn’t the first time – I’ve worked there for two or three weeks over the summer for the two previous years. But each time, I realized how hard it was – mentally. I always felt so trapped and isolated… and I never knew why. I always felt like I’d never have any time for friends, family, that I’d just work and then die, and that was all there is to life. Sure, my coworker was an ass (lol…) but I never understood why I felt like this – I worked before, and I just never did. I worked stage crew; I worked at a political office… I figured, “hey, I just don’t have any work ethic – that’s all. I guess this is just what life is…” this year, though? I began to think differently. I wondered, “this can’t be all there is to life.” How do people live like this, working 8-6 Monday through Friday, every week of their lives? Doing jobs that are utterly MEANINGLESS to them? Sure, they’re producing necessary goods to fuel the American economy and keep it going. Sure. But that’s hardly meaningful, to them… and that’s where I began to get onto something. Stage Crew, which I mentioned I did (at my school, of course) was meaningful – at least to me. I worked long hours for minimum wage, but it was so worth it. It meant I was helping to further the education and discipline of teenagers, including myself in a way, and build people who would go on and hopefully do something important with their lives! (Ah! but how?) I then thought about working at a political office for our districts state senator – last summer, for two weeks. I felt like that job was one of the most rewarding jobs I had ever done. Why? Because I was helping the political process. Sure, it wasn’t THAT rewarding, but it was more rewarding than working 8-6 Monday through Saturday (including overtime) at a warehouse doing tasks that would only matter to a few people in a big office building. And then, it hit me. (hang on, more's coming in the edits... -_-) What hit me? The fact that people ALLOWED themselves to work these insane hours at these insane locations, and for their ENTIRE LIVES! Why? The economy – sure. Why else? Because Americans have been reduced to being corporate SLAVES! Whatever happened to entrepreneurs like Luis Alvarez? Like Seymour Cray? Charles Ginsburg? Wilson Greatbatch? Henry FORD? What happened to the American spirit that our nation once had to innovate; to be original, to make a lasting MARK on HISTORY? It has DISAPPEARED! Where are all the inventors? The small business entrepreneurs? The risk-takers? Why don’t we have more men and women like those stated above? People should be working at these jobs, sure – for a YEAR or two. They shouldn’t be working the same 6-8 Mon-Sat $7.25 job for their entire lives, and yet people DO! People should be moving from these utterly meaningless jobs to bigger and better things. Rewarding jobs; jobs that will give meaning to their lives. Jobs that will make them be remembered in history! Do you think Barack Obama woke up when he was seventeen, and said, “I think I’m going to be a sales clerk for the rest of my life”? NO! he woke up one day and said, “I’m going to run for senator.” And then he made it to the presidency. He will now be remembered in history FOREVER, whatever your opinions are of him. The rest of these people? Working at supermarkets, warehouses? They’ll work… and then die. And NO ONE will REMEMBER THEM! This is what is so wrong with America. People have been conditioned to work these INSANE jobs because it’s good “work ethic,” and because it’s “American.” People need to start being original. People need to start inventing amazing things, like Edison. We need more innovators, more entrepreneurs. We need REAL Americans, otherwise our economy is DOOMED! It’s no WONDER why people are so depressed in this nation. People are working this shitty jobs for the same $7.25 for their entire lives, instead of taking risks, doing bigger and better things… we’ve become a nation of slaves, of people living utterly meaningless existences only to serve giant corporations rather than being people who will be remembered in history forever as entrepreneurs, risk takers, inventors, leaders! And the only thing KEEPING people in these shitty jobs is the rising cost of living, taxes and inflation! I know I, myself, could never do these types of jobs forever. I’d rather die than keep doing this, because I know there’s no meaning to it… that’s why I want to go into teaching, and then politics. Because I want to be someone, and that doesn’t include a sales clerk, warehouse clerk, computer manufacturer or anything of the sort. What about you? And to think that it took me three years to actually realize that, hah. Opinions? Anyone? Am I a spoiled little brat who doesn’t know what work or discipline is? Or if perhaps not, am I actually onto something?

In need of some serious help with my education. Computer Science or not? I am a freshman in college, and I am a pre-business major. My dream in life is to be a part of a (hopefully successful) social media start-up on the web. Such as twitter, facebook, youtube, etc. I feel a strong passion towards social media and entrepreneurship, and I am always interested in the newest hot spot on the web. (more the people/process behind it then to use it). I do not know how to code/program websites, nor at this point do i believe I am interested in it. But I have come to the conclusion that in order to network with people who will help make my ideas a reality, I need to change my major to Computer Science, and at the same time learn the skills required to be in this industry. Ive heard a lot that Computer Science is extremely difficult, especially if you are not passionate about it. What do you guys think I should do, I am at a crossroads, and need to make a decision FAST. Thank you
Best way of taking as much as you can out of education? I am a freshmen at the Citadel, the military college of south carolina, and am enlisted in the Marine Corps. I want to take classes during the summer and on the internet, I like a full plate. I was wondering if anyone had any insight to go at your own pace classes on the internet for college credit, or simply something to add to a resume. I take classes through the marine corps, but they are mostly combat leadership oriented, but i need something that will help me when i get out. I plan on taking business and entrepreneurship classes during the summer to complement my major. I'm just looking to diversify and do well in life. I am doing well stock trading and hope to do something with that on the side as a source of income, as well as real estate and owning a small business....any ideas? Thank you very much.

FASHION/ ENTREPRENEURSHIP GRAD PROGRAMS? Hey there! So I'm a Retail Merchandising/Fashion Product Development student, and I've been looking into grad programs across the country. I would like to get my Master's Degree in something along the lines of Fashion Entrepreneurship, or Entrepreneurship with a concentration in fashion products, or Merchandising/entrepreneurship, or even E-tailing or E-commerce with a fashion twist... something like that. My ultimate career goal is to open my own online store, and I just want an education that will give me the skills to do so. I've already looked at Parsons (they don't have my program), FIT (nope!), and LIM (unheard of, bad student reviews), and I'm not sure who else to look at. I'm not willing to do online courses, and I'm not really a designer, so that's out. I really need help here, guys!!
Could someone edit and proofread my college application essay? "Describe the unique qualities that attract you to the specific School or College (including preferred admission and dual-degree programs) to which you are applying at the University of Michigan. How would that curriculum support your interests? " Evoking lateral thinking, branching out into many disciplines, and giving the flexibility to experiment with different subjects, the LSA lets students become more compassionate and aware. The Ross School of Business begets leaders through world class instruction, promoting unconventional learning, as well as instilling an innovative spirit throughout its student body. Both schools entice me with their ability to foster the mind of an explorer; I have a need to explore everything. I am a curious person by nature; I consistently try to branch out my knowledge by taking courses with which I am intentionally unfamiliar. The LSA will allow me to explore and discover different subjects while following a major with the most flexibility a liberal arts school could provide in the entire nation. My curiosity does not begin to elaborate on my support of reform and social activism. My mother taught me growing up that as humans we can only try to improve ourselves and in turn improve society. The LSA has been home to some of the largest instances of activism in our country’s history. President JFK used the Union Building to announce the Peace Corps, a highpoint of government dedication to serving the world; the Black Action Movement was started by LSA students and became a precedent of affirmative action. The LSA has historically created an atmosphere of activism and exploration that I find essential to thrive intellectually and socially. My sister asked me three weeks ago, "What is the Ross School of Business?” My response was simple: it is where leaders are made. After visiting Ross, one can feels he in the presence of great leadership, be it of thought or action. With institutes within the school dedicated to entrepreneurship as well as various venture capital funds connected to Ross, one cannot only start a business but receive the helping hand needed to watch it flourish. As someone constantly developing my own business ideas, such dedication to start-ups is essential to the type of school I would need to further my business education. A Ross undergraduate curriculum is not only dedicated to the start of business but also the instruction necessary to sustain a business; they build global leaders. With a growing interconnected global economy, Ross builds compassionate leaders who are able handle and explore solutions to myriad situations in this given economic climate. As someone who has found himself naturally in leadership positions, it is blatant to me that Ross is the zenith of leadership education. I have seen the personal growth and developed opportunity of close friends who have attended both schools. They have had ease in job placement and were sought after by world renowned companies regardless of a volatile economy. Companies see within the graduates the experience of attending a topnotch liberal arts school and an institute that defines the pinnacle of business education for the country. Ross and the LSA curriculums are geared to producing well rounded leaders with integrity who are not scared to explore and innovate. This is the Michigan Difference.
did you know shifting wealth to benefit the majority actually helps capitalism? making things cheaper to mass like mail, packages, energy, education, arguably health care allows the economy to flow faster and entrepreneurship to increase faster also being that investment is not taxed it gives people at high tax rates incentive to invest instead to horde you should because you befitted off this system or the system of passing it on to your grand kids

Are there any experiential Sufi schools? Schools for polymaths? I have a problem. I excel in multiple fields including business, science, sociology, religion... with an above average understand of arts, though I have no artistic education. However, I am a gifted actress, I am business strategist... I advice people on everything from career to education to religion to Info Tech to entrepreneurship. I am in my mid-20's, and a plain vanilla MBA. My education does not do justice to me; I want to learn more and do more. I am looking for alternative schools/institutions that provide a well-rounded education for a Renaissance woman. One idea is go to a anthroposophical school, such as Goetheanum. Another is to join a Sufi school, if there is one with experiential education as I am not seeking to be a scholar (purely) but a human being. Is there a school/instituion out there which caters to such needs? Or can you guide me to a source of info? Seriosu answers only, please?

How many Clinton supporters does it take to start a berry patch? New York, NY - President Clinton today announced that members of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) - including 82 former and current heads of state and 325 CEOs have made nearly 1,000 "Commitments to Action" to improve over 200 million lives in more than 100 countries. CGI was launched by President Clinton in 2005. Martín Burt, of Fundacíon Paraguaya, who discussed the progress of “Education that Pays for Itself,” a commitment to provide business training to disadvantaged youth in rural areas to equip them to become entrepreneurs. As part of this commitment, Fundacíon Paraguaya recently hosted the first International Conference on Self-Sufficient Schools, where 140 participants from 20 countries met to explore the creation of innovative high school curricula to train young people to manage small-scale agricultural enterprises on their campuses. Since the Annual Meeting in 2007, Fundación Paraguaya has held the first International Conference on Self-Sufficient Schools with 140 participants from 20 countries in Paraguay, where they launched the idea of reinventing rural education through entrepreneurship. The Second International Conference will be held November 2008 in South Africa. Fundación Paraguaya strengthened their partnerships with the Skoll Foundation, Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, Avina Foundation, Educating Africa Foundation, and the Peery Foundation to help them develop a global network. Their network is called “Teach A Man To Fish” and has 600 members from 80 countries. Fundación Paraguaya partnered with international NGOs such as the Nike Foundation, CARE, Opportunity International, and Christian Children’s Fund to build or transform rural schools in South America, Africa, and India. They have projects in 13 countries thus far, and plan to reach 50 countries by 2017. They are working with the Inter American Development Bank and their inclusive business division called “Opportunity for the Majority” to allocate funds and/or provide loans. Finally, they received a commitment from a Swiss social venture capital firm called Alpha Mundi Group to help raise US$ 15 million in grants.
Free Education in Europe for EU Citizens? I am a dual citizen, passport-carrier of both Portugal and The United States of America, the latter of which I have lived my entire life despite a few short stays in Portugal here and there. It is in the US that I've done all of my schooling including graduating from an American High School as well as completing two years at the University level to date. It wasn't until recently that I found out that I "really ought to be" doing my schooling in Europe as opposed to the USA, taking advantage of my dual citizenship and that various countries throughout the EU offer entirely free college educations solely because I'm a member of the European Union. The countries that I am aware of at this point that do this as of right now are Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway. Are there other countries that do this as well? I've done the research at least with Denmark and I've learned that you do not need to have lived in/paid taxes in Europe for any definite amount of time to take advantage of this opportunity, but since I'm having difficulties in finding any sort of a "list" of countries that offer free education, I'm hoping maybe one of you out there can provide me with some information. Then, once I narrow it down to which countries are available to me, then obviously I'm going to have to do some research into which schools I want to apply for, so on and so on, I realize. Another thing I'm curious about is as to whether or not my 2 years of American University credits would be transferrable to my new uni in Europe. Since I've got realistically another year until I get into whatever school I decide to try for, I've also got to be considering which classes I ought to be signing up for in the coming semesters, making sure as to not waste them with courses that won't transfer (I'm assuming that US History isn't on the list of requirements for Danish graduation.) In case it matters: I am 24 and have not yet declared a major. So far in my studies I have nearly completed the American general education requirements (math, english, science, etc.), and my future goal is to open my own travel business. As such I was considering majoring in business/entrepreneurship/economics/accounting, or something that would aid in that. Definitely not anything in the math/science department. Thank you for all of your help. These questions have been burning a hole in my head and I'm hoping to get some answers here. J. Obviously I am fluent in English. I speak a fair amount of Portuguese and enough Spanish to get by. While it would obviously be helpful if said school spoke English, I am 100% happy to learn the native language of whichever country I should go to.
Does my letter of motivation looks strong enough or does it need any changes? I apply for grad school and have to wrire motivation letter. Can anyone look through it and see if there any grammar mistakes or if the structure is unclear? Director of the Program xx KTH December 18, 2009 Dear Sir or Madam: I have been at my last year of school at American University in Bulgaria, with a major of Business Administration. During my studies majority of the courses were focused on the main challenges and concerns related to the successful global functioning of organizations, critical skills needed to properly start and manage ventures and analytical tools and models used in problem solving. My undergraduate education at American University in Bulgaria has not only given me a certain set of valuable skills but has also helped me to understand my academic strengths and weaknesses and my fields of interest. While taking a course of Marketing I received a deep insight into creating, developing and assessing projects. Besides studying the theory, I had to create a product which would be innovative and successful on global market, evaluating all the advantages of disadvantages in terms of cultural aspects, geographical location, customer demand in particular region and many other crucial factors which help to determine the successful realization of the product. Operational Supply Management was the other useful courses where I acquired the necessary skills to start and manage projects following the key management concept of planning, organizing , leading and controlling. My study abroad experience at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky has given me additional knowledge in my field and has made my communication skills more effective. Taking such courses as Management Science and Management helped me to understand how important it is for the company to be more innovative and entrepreneurial. I acquired necessary skills of how these invention can properly function, how they can be managed and how they can be realized within specific organization. In addition to that, frequent work in groups for creating a project have built good team work understanding and involvement I believe that possession of such critical skills an effective communication, creativity and collaboration can qualify me as a candidate to your program. I am someone who is able to learn quickly and adapt to new environments and perform under pressure. I love to be challenged, to explore new ideas, I am always eager to learn and engage in several activities, which helps me to manage my time more efficiently and be more productive. Furthermore, studying in American University in Bulgaria gave me sufficient amount of quantitative knowledge and assisted in developing my analytical thinking skills needed to properly analyze and assess innovative projects. After completing the Master`s Programme my goal is to start my career in one of the innovative companies, where I will be able to utilize my practical and theoretical knowledge to attain the prosperity of organization. With education in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, I will gain a relevant knowledge of innovation and entrepreneurship combined with strong real world experience that will help me to build my further development as innovation leader and provide with a basis for the start-up of my own business venture . Thank you most sincerely for your time and consideration. I look forward to your positive response. Respectfully yours, xx

Double major and double minor...? I've been wanting to double major in nursing and social work, with a double minor in elementary education and entrepreneurship... is that possible, or do all the degrees need to be related? And do you know of any good schools where this would be possible? Sorry, I forgot to mention that I want these degrees to open an orphanage overseas, so I wouldn't be making a full time job of all of these at once. It would be gradual, and hopefully i'd be able to hand off certain aspects as i moved on to others... Hopefully that helps! But please understand that I'm not hoping to be a nurse, teacher, social worker, and entrepreneur all at once! thanks! and i don't need to finish in 4 years... but i've already completed calculus, statistics, and AP biology and chemistry, and tested out of those college classes...
McGill/Desautels or John Molson School of Business? I'm wondering which of these two business schools provides the best education and has the best career prospects, mainly for finance, accounting and entrepreneurship. Also, I'm wondering if both allow the same opportunity for students to enter a top-10 MBA program (Harvard, Columbia, Wharton, etc.). Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it!

Do I have a shot at going to Cornell University? I'm currently a junior at a public high school with over 2,200 kids, 485 of which are in my class. I'm 84th out of my class (top quarter of my class), with a weighted GPA of 4.072 and an unweighted GPA of 3.855. My classes so far are as follows: Freshmen Year: Algebra 1, Honors Earth and Space Science, Honors African and Asian Studies, English, Spanish 3, Music Theory 1, Wellness and Fitness, Software Applications, and Life and Career. Sophomore Year: Honors Geometry, Honors Biology, Honors Western Civilization, Spanish 4, Health, Business and Personal Law, English, and Introduction to Business. (Algebra II during summer) Next year, I will be taking: English, Honors Chemistry, Honors Spanish Seminar (5th year of Spanish), Math Analysis OR Honors Algebra II, AP U.S History, Entrepreneurship, and Physical Education 1. I have been in numerous clubs, including: Spanish Club, International Club, Ski Club, FBLA, NHS and Class Council. I attended a state competition for FBLA for Business Presentation, and placed 8th. I also organized a Key Club (an internationall recognized club like NHS). Next year, I will be an officer for the following clubs: Key Club, and FBLA. I also plan on doing the following clubs next year: FBLA (officer position), Key Club (president), NHS (running for an officer position), Spanish Club (running for an officer position), International Club (running for an officer position), and Class Council. I may also try out for the Academic Team. This summer, I will be going to a business camp (PFEW), to further explore my interest in Business. I will also be checking out College campus'. I'm sure I will do just fine on the SAT's, for I am very good at taking tests, and fairly smart. My teachers will all write excellent recommendations for me, as I know that is one thing colleges look at. So this leaves me to ask one question; do I stand a chance at attending Cornell Universtiy in two years?
Which college is the best? I am planning on studying Business, mainly Entrepreneurship, Finance, and/or Accounting and I got into.. University of Connecticut (UCONN) Rutgers, New Bruns University of Miami (florida) Baylor University Hofstra University Indiana University - Bloomington (I'm trying to get into Kelley, but it may be tough) University of Delaware Drexel University *Cost is not a problem, because quality education is inelastic to me

Why do many claim that Christians hate minorities (are racist), women, & science because of the Bible? An example of a milder form of this ubiquitous opinion appeared just a few minutes ago: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Audua4I7WsBa8F1wVc3dPV3sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20100801175337AA8k66O&show=7#profile-info-nwN6YdBDaa ==================================================================== OPTIONAL DETAILS CONCERNING THE ALLEGED HATRED: Why would any make such negative assumptions about Christians and the Bible in terms of such alleged "hatred" when history reminds us that: 1) Christians in the UK brought the end of the English slave trade and Christians in the U.S. championed the Abolitionist movement (and many were imprisoned for hiding runaway slaves). Both groups published and circulated tracts which demonstrated to the general public and elected officials the Bible scriptures supporting their call for an end to the oppression of the Africans, calling it their "Christian duty". 2) In the ancient world, the Bible granted rights and privileges to women unheard of in the neighboring contemporary cultures. In more recent centuries, the nations with strong Christian heritages and the Bible's influence led the world in women's rights including women's suffrage. 3) Likewise, considering that the nations of Europe most impacted by the Protestant Reformation with its emphasis on Bible translations and study in the language of the commoner/laity also ushered in the great scientific discoveries and technological revolution as well as massive expansions in public education, libraries, and scientific entrepreneurship which helped bring about economic vitality and the growth of a middle class. The vast majority of the science pioneers profiled in textbooks of nearly every field were Bible-believing Christians who would laugh at the suggestion that the Bible and Christianity "hates science" and discouraged their discoveries. SO WHY THE ASSUMPTION BY SOME THAT THE BIBLE & CHRISTIANS INTEND TO "HOLD BACK" minorities, women, & science? (The question even implies some sort of sinister "conspiracy agenda" that has been there all along.)

Business Slogan for Training Company? I need a slogan for my training company. Since its inception, the business has found innovative ways to decrease the customer's time and expense of training without compromising quality. The types of training services and products we offer include, but are not limited to, CPR, first aid, and instructor-trainer certification; continuing education home study courses for nursing home and residential care administrators; limited copyright self-study materials for home health aides and nursing assistants; and nurse entrepreneurship seminars. Any ideas (however wacky) would be greatly appreciated! Jack R

A few questions about Junior colleges? So I plan on going to a junior college for 2 years and transferring to a larger university. Partly because I have to because of my horrible grades during my freshman and sophomore year, and plus, I want to get used to the college scene before being chewed up and spit out. My question is, I want to major in Chemistry (I want to be a forensic pathologist), but I don't know what classes to take at a JuCo. Here are examples from one college: Business Administration Criminal Justice Entertainment Management Medical Assisting Physical Therapy Assistant Early Child Education Health Studies Retail Business Management Management Entrepreneurship Fashion Design Fashion Merchandising Accelerated Degree Program Which one would I look into? I'm so confused right now. If you need more information, ask me. thanks!

Anyone have first-hand Online College/Degree experience? Anyone ever hear of Empire State College? I have an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and currently work in sales. I would like to go back to school and earn a Bachelor's and maybe move onto something higher after that. I took a couple of years off from school after some personal issues that I went through and I'm ready to move on in my life. I'm a little all over the place in my interests - I'm considering Journalism, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Teaching English as a Second Language, Education, stuff like this. I know I sound all over the place but I'm going to choose something and go for a Bachelor's so that I can improve my marketability and skills. Money and time are issues for me. I am considering an online degree but the "reputable" ones are pricey. By reputable I mean most advertised, well-known. Asking around, a co-worker told me he was taking courses at ESC - Empire State College which says it is a SUNY school. Sounds good to me since SUNY has pretty good standards in my eyes with the most affordability. My specific questions are: 1) Anyone have any personal opinions/experience on this particular college? 2) Will getting an online degree be valued appropriately by an employer? 3) Will I have trouble transferring this degree to another school if I were to continue my education either in NY or elsewhere? 4) Do you have reputable, accredited (and affordable) online college recommendations?
Start A Daycare Center? I'm a teen and when I get older I want to start a daycare center (not in my home). I want to go to college for entrepreneurship or business management. If I want to maybe just plan the activities at the center, hire teachers, and do the office work and such, what other education would I need to open the daycare?
Which university should I go to!?!?!? I am definitely going to major in business (finance or entrepreneurship) I got accepted into Rutgers - NB UCONN Baylor U Hofstra Indiana U bloomington ((Kelley busines school)) ( --- ) = still waiting (U of Miami in florida) (Northeastern U) (U of Delaware) (Drexel U) I'm pretty sure that I will get into the colleges that I am still waiting for. To many choices, too little time. I dont care about cost, because quality education is inelastic to me.

How does one start a business if the business venture has little to do with distribution? How does one start a business if the business venture has little to do with distribution? I wont be specific about my idea as I am very protective, however I can say that Artificial Intelligence Research and Development is at the height of what I want my business to focus on, how would a business like this be funded? If the business also focuses on software and Hardware development and distribution how would a company of such be funded? how do people with such businesses focused on research and development become funded basically? I have no college education YET and I plan on Double majoring in Computer Science and Entrepreneurship or at least obtaining an entrepreneurship certificate along with my computer science major

How would one get started in developing a Conglomerate Enterprise? First off I would like to work at a Strategy/Management Consulting Firm before I begin my Entrepreneurial Endeavors, then I would like to open my own Strategy/Consulting Firm and hopefully open offices Internationally. Then I would like to Open a Magazine Publishing Co. under the same Brand as my Consulting Firm. The Publishing Co. will produce two key magazines which focus on International Business and Entrepreneurship as well as updates on new Office Supply materials and utilities. The second magazine produced would be geared towards International Humanitarianism and will be geared towards the like. I also would like to enter the Real Estate business in developing countries like South Africa West under the Company Brand obviously. Is a Double Major in International Business and Business Administration/Entrepreneurship enough to get started granted the much more education needed after I begin to enter diffrent Industry sectors?
Need Help -- Career Exploration Project? Well, this is how my school works. We have academies, I'm in Entrepreneurship, and sub-academies named strands, of which I'm in International Business and Marketing. The problem is that over Spring Break I have to do a career exploration paper (inc. nature of work, conditions, salary, education, etc) on it. I explained to him that Int. Business isn't a career. You can't be an International Businesser, there are careers under that such as exporter, etc. He says that my career is my strand and I can't go below that. What do I do? I've tried numerous career websites such as www.bls.gov/oco, www.career2000.org, and www.labormarketinfo.com but none of them have info on Int. Business since it isn't a CAREER.
I'm from Europe and want to study in the US.? Hi everybody, As the headline says, I'm from Europe (Denmark to be more specific), and I have successfully finished and graduated 12 years of education (high school) in 2005, and I am thinking about going to start my undergraduate studies (Bachelor degree) in the states. I have traveled a lot during the last years, and am currently working on a Saudi Arabian prince's private megayacht to save up money for my education next year. However, I am not too sure about where to start before applying to a college/university in the US. - Should I apply for a community college and first get a touch of how studying would be in the states? -Should I try to go straight into a business school in the states, since the bachelor that I want to pursue is withing the business area? (e.g. BA in Business administration, E-commerce, management, entrepreneurship) - or should I perhaps try to get started on an internationally recognised bachelor degree back home (e.g. BA in International Business) and then try to transfer to an american institution of education and continue my studies there instead? I am currently 22 years old, turning 23 in April next year, and I am beginning to feel a bit stressed about education since I really want to get started. However, I do not want to enroll in any education - I wish to get an education that allows me to go international. I am registered to do my TOEFL and SAT I test in January. Any advice? What should I do. Thanks in advance people, Daniel EDIT: Or perhaps should I try some summer schools or university preparation courses to try and get at touch of how it is to study in the states?
What should I do? Get a BA first? Hi everybody, Alright, I am caught in a huge dilemma here, trying to figure out what to do. I really want to get started on my education since I am turning 23 in April. I have several things that I would like to do, but I just cannot figure out what or how, or in what order to do them! I've always had a passion for design (fashion, web design, graphic design etc.), and I also have a talent for drawing and being creative. I have always dreamed of having my own design career in one way or another (like having my own brand etc.), but I find it to be a rather dodgy area with a lot of competition and struggle, and I am not sure that I have enough passion for it to do it on such a level. However, I also have a very big drive and passion for entrepreneurship and always get business ideas popping up in my mind that I would like to give a try, but I want to get more education within the business area to earn more skills and knowledge before jumping into the dream of becoming an entrepreneur. My dilemma therefore is - should I try get myself a BA degree first and then afterward go and mix it up with a design-related education, and if it fails then I always have my BA to fall back on? Or should I go for the design first? I find it very hard to decide what to do, and I am so confused, feel like crying to be honest. I am really starting to get stressed out about my age (22 now, 23 in April). If I start a BA degree this year will I end up being 26 when I finish it, and if I then decide to go for a design education, then I'll probably end up being 30 years old and no work experience or MSc!? This is so much trouble to my mind, and I really want somebody to help me with advice. This needs to come to and end, but I feel like I have to chose one, and since they are so different makes it feel like I have to chose between two completely different dream paths in my life, which will exclude the other.

Chicago GSB MBA Full-time versus Part-time.? I work in St. Louis in Engineering and am pretty good at it and enjoy it. I want to work another two years to bring my total work experience to four years and then do an entrepreneurship focused MBA from a top School. My company will pay for any education expenses without limit while at school. I am planning ahead, and provided I like being here, and want to stick with this company, my options are WashU and Chicago GSB, if I work and study. But, is a Part-Time (Weekends?) MBA as valuable as a Full-Time one? Should I take a year or two off work and go for one of the top schools (INSEADis a top choice) and pay for the MBA myself and through loans? Or should I choose to study while I work, and have the company pay for it? If the company pays, they will have a 3-year-post-graduation bond to work, but with a buyout clause of course. Anyone who has had to make a similar decision, please advise.

And although I never met him, Ward >>> Churchill, in addition to teaching in the ethnic studies department, >>> helped to develop and organize the minority writing program. >>> >>> The job paid most of my bills, but what I witnessed there was >>> absolutely horrifying. The students were encouraged to write essays >>> attacking the white establishment from every conceivable angle and >>> in addition to defend affirmative action and other government >>> programs. Of the hundreds of papers that I read, there was not one >>> original contribution to the problem of black mobility that strayed >>> from the party line. >>> >>> The irony of it all however is that the 'white establishment' >>> managed to get them into the college and pay their entire tuition. >>> Instead of being encouraged to study international affairs, >>> classical or modern languages, philosophy or art, most of these >>> students became ethnic studies or sociology majors because it >>> allowed them to remain in disciplines whose orientation justified >>> their existence at the university. Am I too old for college? Hello out there, First of all, my name is Daniel and i am from Denmark, 22 years old. I finished 12 years of education (we have another system in Denmark, where we are in primary and secondary school for 9 years, and further 3 more years - is it equal to high school or senior high school I believe? Any who, I graduated my Danish STX/high school in 2005 at the age of 18, and have then traveled a lot and saved up a around 20.000 USD, and I am now heavily thinking about continuing my further studies at an US college or university. I want to get a BS or BA in a business related area (e.g. business administration, business management, entrepreneurship etc.), but I am not sure I have either the grades or requisites to continue into an American institution of education. - if I start at a US college at the age of 23 or 24 - will I then be a lot older than the rest of the students? - I have been thinking about doing some uni preparation courses to get a taste of how studying would be in the states, can anybody recommend something? - I have been looking at the UC Riverside university preparation program (http://www.iep.ucr.edu/Programs/University_Preparation.html) - and the Harvard Summer School program for international high school students - http://www.summer.harvard.edu/2009/programs/ssp/siel.jsp - but how old are these people on a course like this? Sorry for so many questions, looking very much forward to see your answers. Thanks in advance.

When should I tell my boss about a possible part-time graduate program? I work as a programmer for a company and have a degree in computer science. I am considering a part-time, evening Master's Degree program at a local university. However, the degree is in Technology Entrepreneurship and not exactly technical-based (Artificial Intelligence, engineering) nor is it work related. Keep in mind, I will need to leave work a couple of times to meet with the head of the department. I am an honest person so I always feel better when everything thing is laid out on the table and my boss is a nice person that puts a large emphasis on education so I am pretty sure he will support my decision as long as it doesn't conflict with work. Any suggestions as to when I should tell my boss about it (before I've been accepted or after) and what I should tell him when I need to leave work for a couple of hours so they don't suspect me looking for other jobs? Thanks in advance.
MBA or Master in Education? I'm interested in starting my own language school. Although I've been teaching for 10 years, I don't have any formal teaching education, and I'm really interested in learning more about teaching methods in second language acquisition. I do have a degree in business at the undergraduate level, but I would also like to pursue an MBA with a concentration in entrepreneurship and start my school. I'm at a crossroads and don't know which way to go. Help!

If I wanted hire employees, do the office work, and plan activities and such at the center but not "teach", what other education would I need?
