Does anybody have a successful relationship (romantically) between two people who were youngest children? I'm seeing this guy who is a youngest child and I'm a youngest child. I have heard that such partnerships don't usually work and I realize that I don't know of any relationship between two youngest children that actually worked. Can I have a successful relationship with both a guy and a girl? I have been with my husband for 6 years, and he knows and is comfortable with the fact that I am bisexual. Lucky for me, he is not one of those guys that is always trying to fulfill some fantasy through my preference by always pushing for a threesome, because I can not stand that. It seems like everyone who has problems with their ex and break up, either you go through the mourning process, or you get back unsuccessfully with your ex just to hook up. In the welter of events following the bombing of the World Trade Center in Feb. 26, 1993, few noticed that the first man arrested, Mohammed Salameh—the poor, unemployed illegal immigrant— offered $5 million for bail. Where could he get this kind of money? The judge refused bail. But was the source of Salameh's offer the same as the one that funded the eight men—arrested shortly afterward—who planned to blow up Manhattan's tunnels and bridges and to assassinate public officials? Were the same money sources behind the final attack on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11? ... For a long time, there has been evidence that terrorist, international drug trafficking and criminal organizations use the same fund-raising methods to enrich themselves. In 1999 alone, the world production of heroin was estimated at 500 metric tons; 400 were produced by the Taliban and available to fund bin Laden and his associates worldwide. First warning The writing was on the wall on July 5, 1991, when the Bank of England shut down what was the most important Islamic bank in the world, the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI). This criminal entity was created by the Pakistani Aaga Hassan Abedi "to fight the evil influence of the West"; to help with the creation of the "Islamic Bomb"; to finance all Muslim terrorist organizations; and to launder the money that was generated mostly by illicit drug trafficking and other illegal activities, including arms trafficking. When BCCI went belly up, we learned from thousands of documents that Abu Nidal—the notorious Palestinian terrorist organization that now enjoys the hospitality of Iraq's Saddam Hussein, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hezbollah and bin Laden—had accounts in the bank. By the end of the 1980s, the "special services" provided by BCCI included access to Western humanitarian and international development funds, as well as drug money laundering, secret transfers of cash and bribes. A "Black Network," a special enforcement unit supported by Abu Nidal and other terrorist organizations, operated from Pakistan. The same Pakistan that harbored bin Laden for many years while its officials told the United States that they didn't know his whereabouts. And the same Pakistan that for decades, even according to the State Department's annual report, had been a major drug trafficking and money laundering center. Western blindness Yet, now more importantly, we also discovered that the American and British governments knew and kept the bank open for a long time. The bank "that would bribe God" was able to get away with its criminal activities for decades due to Abedi's clever portrayal of the Muslim nations as victims of Western—and particularly U.S.— "imperialism." And when the bank was shuttered, the accusation in the Muslim/Arab and Third World countries was that the U.S. and the United Kingdom governments closed the bank to curtail the growing fiscal power of Muslim countries. Like Abedi, anti-American, anti-Western terrorist and radical Muslim states and organizations, such as the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, the PLO, Iraq and Iran, use Western democratic rhetoric to their advantage. But it is the willful blindness, mainly toward the growing volume of drug money laundering, exercised by Western bankers on the one hand and Western politicians on the other, that makes money laundering possible, despite the many laws and international conventions to control this phenomenon. The BCCI was the first warning to the West. The second warning about the abuse of European and American financial markets by terrorist organizations, as well as their involvement in the illicit arms and drug trade, was made in February 1994 by the British National Criminal Intelligence Service (NCIS). The Organized Crime Unit of the NCIS warned that Middle East terrorist groups and states were targeting the financial centers of London, Frankfurt and other Western countries, and that they favor illegal drug trafficking, money laundering and fraud.... Clinton appeasement Despite its stated policy of not negotiating with terrorists, the Clinton administration went out of its way to appease a few of the 20th century's most notorious terror groups: the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), the PLO and the Irish Republican Army. All are heavily involved in the drug trade. On the eve of the 1993 handshake on the White House lawn between Israeli Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin and PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat, Britain's National Criminal Intelligence Service estimated the PLO's ill-gotten gains to total between $8 billion to $10 billion, with an annual income of about $1.5 billion to $2 billion from "donations, extortion, payoffs, illegal arms dealing, drug trafficking, money laundering, fraud, etc." Since then, Washington has only aided and abetted the PLO. Since the start of the Oslo process, Arafat has received at least $3 billion more from the United States and the international community, without any serious demand for accountability, according to a report this year to Congress. Arafat, in well-documented instances, has been systematically skimming off portions of these funds, as he has with monies given to him on behalf of the refugees in the camps. The PLO was in the drug trafficking business almost from the beginning. Operating from Lebanon, under Habash's able leadership and assisted by a PLO-owned shipping company SUMUD, the organization exported hashish, opium, heroin and cocaine, first to Europe and later even to the United States and Australia. In return, it obtained weapons for their war against Israel and the West, and amassed a massive treasure trove. In addition, the PLO and Arafat, who enjoy the financial and strategic support of Hussein and bin Laden, have the distinction of being the organization that promoted "suicide bombers" as a weapon. Yet the Clinton administration subsidized a multitude of radical Palestinian groups, ranging from Arafat's Fatah branch of the PLO and its military wing, the Tanzim, to the socialist-nationalist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), headed by George Habash, all with close ties to bin Laden, Iraq and Iran. ...It was the Clinton White House that, despite evidence to the contrary, removed Syria from its list of the drug trafficking countries, to entice Syria to join the "peace process" in the Middle East. The failure of that process and the compromises the United States has made to maintain an illusion of peaceful prospects had no doubt added to the Muslim radical terrorists' resolve to attack what they see as a naive and vulnerable America. In another example of self-delusion, in 1999, then Secretary of State Madeleine Albright suggested a U.S.-led coalition to negotiate with the FARC and supported Colombia President Pastrana's "land for peace" initiative, despite a report from the General Accounting Office that the FARC is running a major international criminal enterprise that, among other things, supplies hundreds of tons of cocaine and heroin to the U.S. black market. On Dec. 22, 2001, Reid was subdued by passengers when he attempted to detonate a bomb in his shoe aboard American Airlines Flight 63 from Paris to Miami. There were 197 people on board. The plane was diverted to Boston, where it landed safely. Moussaoui told the court he knew the World Trade Center attack was coming and that he lied to investigators when arrested in August 2001 because he wanted it to happen. The official, a senior figure in the CIA's Osama bin Laden unit, said he sought authorization on July 13, 2001, to send information to the FBI but got no response for 10 days, then asked again. As it turned out, the information on Khalid al-Mihdhar did not reach the FBI until late August. At the time, CIA officers needed permission from a special unit before passing certain intelligence on to the FBI. The official was identified only as John. His written testimony was read into the record. "John's" testimony was part of the defense's case that federal authorities missed multiple opportunities to catch hijackers and perhaps thwart the 9/11 plot. His testimony included an e-mail sent by FBI supervisor Michael Maltbie discussing Moussaoui but playing down his terrorist connections. Maltbie's e-mail said "there's no indication that (Moussaoui) had plans for any nefarious activity." He sent that e-mail to the CIA even after receiving a lengthy memo from the FBI agent who arrested Moussaoui and suspected him of being a terrorist with plans to hijack aircraft. Prosecutors argue that Moussaoui, a French citizen, thwarted a prime opportunity to track down the 9/11 hijackers and possibly unravel the plot when he was arrested in August 2001 on immigration violations and lied to the FBI about his al-Qaida membership and plans to hijack a plane. What are some tips for a successful long-distance relationship? My girlfriend and I have been dating for three months and love each other very much. We currently live in Washington, D.C., but she has recently accepted a great job in NYC. She'll probably be moving there some time in the next two months. What will you do when your best friend trying to ruin your relationship with your Fiancée? My best friend who I know for six year, who I helped in extreme financial difficulties even when she were unable to pay her rent and groceries, she tried several time in the past to have a relationship with me so we can get married. Why can't African men/Black American women be in happy successful relationships? Coming from my experience and the experiences of other close friends and family, why does it seem like the relationship between African men and Black American women don't seem to work out or its a miserable one. I know there are some african men and black american women in happy, successful relationships but from what I learned, its very few. I know there are cultural differences. I met Sierra Leonian, Nigerian, Kenyan and Ugandan men-from my perspective, they all come off as insensitive, pessimistic, arrogant, and degrading to me (esp. the guy from sierra leone). Don't get me wrong they are respectful at first but then they become all that I mentioned above. We are living a couple of states away, and so it is and will be a long distance relationship. I was wondering, what changes after you have met if anything. Advice on having a successful Open Relationship? My girlfriend and I dated for a year and recently broke up because I'm leaving for school in 5 months. It was like we had an expiry date, so we both decided to end it. In E.R. there were two relationships of such type between Dr. Pratt and Dr. Chen which ended with a split, then the more successful relationship between Gallant and Neesa which resulted in engagement and marriage, but was sadly short lived due to the producers killing off Gallant in a trip to care for refugees and wounded soldiers in Iraq. To me that was a stupid move because I think their relationship was successful and could have really transcended the series in a way especially if one of them ended up in the hospital and the other had to be the caretaker. Sort of like what happened when Dr. Benton's nephew died on the operating table after being shot and later when he quit at County General to care for his deaf son. That was some tragic, deep stuff that went down that I think the audience could relate to. Anyway I never seen any relationships portrayed between Asian men and African-American women on screen yet and I think that would be awesome! I suspect maybe the portrayal of the relationships between the Asian ladies and African-American men on screen might be partly portrayed more common for the lust aspect far more than for the committment emotional support aspect in popular media which is kind of sad because human communication between opposite genders is so much more than just satisfying sexual passion. So it gives a skewed impression. I also heard and read online that Asian men are often suspected of being reluctant to enter romantic relationships with African-American women because they are afraid of the criticism and constant complaining that might arise or something like that. Isn't it odd that astrology says capricorns and scorpios make the best couple? I don't get it, because I've never seen one successful relationship between the two. I, as a scorpio, haven't really ever met one I clicked with. Not that all of them are bad, just I never experienced any bond to capricorns, but I do at least respect that they are hard working. Based on how the two signs are described individually, there is hardly any common ground I see between the two signs apart from working towards a common goal. You will always see more of any culture of men with White Women than you will see with Black Women. Most men are similar in this aspect. The interracial relationships between Black Women and White Men are not based on the same foundation as Black Men and White Women. Interracial relationships between Black Men and White Women are base on a natural attraction of Black Men’s masculinity and White Women’s femininity; but the interracial relationships between Black Women and White Men of today are more so based on anger, frustration, resentment and retaliation towards interracial relationships between Black Men and White Women. This is why Black Men get so much criticism from Black Women for interracially dating and White Women get so much criticism from White Men for interracially dating. Interracial relationships between White Men and Black Women are not based on the same foundation as they were years ago. Years ago most White guys who did date and marry Black Women were really culturally open minded and they really were into Black Women and it was mutual. I know one or two couples and they are two of the nicest couples I’ve ever met. But today it seems to be more based on a frustration that there are a lot of pretty White Girls dating Black Guys, so these White guys are starting to feel slighted like Black Women feel about the successful Black Guys dating White Women. So many White Men and Black Women come together on this common ground, (laboratory relationships). But these relationships don’t last very long because it’s founded on anger and frustration of having to settle for something that they usually wouldn’t in any other circumstances. This seems to be why many Black Women who are in interracial relationships tend to still be mean to me and criticized my interracial relationship as: if it wasn’t for me having a White girlfriend, they wouldn’t have to date a White guy. I recently read an article where it stated that relationships between White men and Asian/Latin women are on average the most successful interracial couplings when taken in to account how long they last and opinion survey's from the couples themselves. I know these things aren't 100% accurate all the time, but I'm white and have been intrested in dating an Asian or Latin women for some time now, but have always thought that at the end of they don't work out. So this article really made me think and gave me reason to believe it can work. Why would a single man of 35 pursue a romantic relationship with an attractive divorced woman of 54? Right now it's online dating (we live several hundred miles from one another) but a meeting is forthcoming and visiting each other shouldn't be a problem in the future. Is there a study of the evidence for reductionism in science? Note that a sequence of links from a higher level theory to particle physics (e.g. evolution to biochemistry, etc) in itself is a weak evidence for a reduction because of the modeling and assumptions used. Some say that reductions are too complex to prove, these links are the best we can do, so the evidence is strong. It's a strange logic. These links are strong evidence for some relationship between the theory and a more elementary one, for some kind of reduction, but not necessarily for the (standard) reduction. So, we have evidence for the successful application of elementary particle physics in chemistry, etc, but unless one carefully consider the models and the assumptions used, we don't know if these links correspond to the standard reduction. Do you know if someone made such a study? For example, someone might have attempted to find some recurring pattern in the assumptions and models used to see if there is an indication of a special kind of reduction. Dr. R. I agree with your way to look at the question, but not with your implicit subjective evaluation of the evidence and facts. You say that it happens all the times that elementary particle physics explain higher level phenomena. Yes, but what about the assumptions that are also used all the times. In this viewpoint, it's not really happening all the times. You say the standard reduction has not been disproved. The evidence for this meta-theory is not as strong as the evidence for the theories themselves. Given that we can legitimately debate the evidence, it makes sense to study them, see if they match other kind of reductions, etc. So, my question remains. Did someone study the evidence for the standard reduction, especially to see if there are recurring patterns that could suggest another kind of reduction? Re follow-up: Let me recall what we agree on. We have no evidence against the reductions in principle or against the comprehensiveness of the basic theory. However, the success of elementary particle physics in chemistry, etc. is usually the success of models with assumptions and thus is not strong evidence for a standard reduction. A non standard reduction or a more comprehensive basic theory could perhaps be easier to fit with the current models of chemistry, etc. So, it could be useful to step back and study what kind of evidence for a reduction we have. You accepted all that, I think. However, you also say that this study is implicit in the current research. I am not sure about that. Sure, it could be merged within the current research. However, until scientists explicitly consider the possibility of an alternative type of reduction, this study is not really occurring. We only accumulate data for it. This is a serious question, please answer it.? I don't need opinions on whether you can claim abstinence even if you've already had sex. I already have my view on that. What I need to know is about the relationships between people. It is known and proven that couples who wait until they're married have a more successful relationship, and those that don't wait until they're married have a higher divorce rate. Now here's my question: If someone's in highschool and they have sex with their partner (long term, not just some silly 1 month relationship) for about 9 months, and then decide to claim abstinence until they're married, do they still have the high divorce rate? Or will the long period of abstinence until they're married help, even if they had sex before? Sorry if this question is confusing, if you need any clearing up, ask and I'll add details. Oh and.... I know some may think it's too early to think about it, only being in high school. I'm not saying I know what my life is going to be like. I just want to make sure if it does happen, that it will be the best it possibly can be. I don't want to ruin my chances before it even happens. We did not have sex too early into our relationship. how much does upbringing affect a relationship? I realize that people don't like to acknowledge that there are, in fact, different classes of people today but my question is, can two people who come from different upbringing have a successful relationship? The culture in which you're raised affects how you live your life so if you were brought up in a different culture/atmosphere than your significant other, is that going to be a problem? I'm not talking about race issues here so please don't bring that into the picture. The background to my question stems from my dad telling me to be aware that my boyfriend and I are from different classes/upbringings and to be aware that that may cause trouble down the road. He's not talking about rich vs. poor here. Because alot of 'well to do' people don't live in mansions. It's more of what your family atmosphere is when you're growing up. How can you approximate distance using RF? I want to get an approximate distance between an RF transmitter and RF receiver . Which one of the following methods would work : 1. Count how many successful RF transmissions are received per second - that means there is a linear relationship between successful transmission and distance. 2.
