- Is this a written agreement? If so, it would depend on the terms of the agreement. If it's a verbal agreement, you would have to prove there was an agreement.
- no
- Only you can decide your 'work-life balance'. An employer can only make decisions about your employment and not your 'life'. However it IS within their rights and duties to make business decisions about the employment situation. There are of course rules to guide the behavior of both the employer and the employee. If your employer isn't following the rules, it should be relatively asy to establish that and make corrections. If not there's not much you can do.
- If is not written into a signed contract, an employer can change the rules at any time they wish. Most states are "at will states" which means an employer can do just about anything they wish to
- Your employer has nothing to do with your "work life balance", whatever that may be. He/she is only concerned with your employment, and your contract lays down those terms. What you do in your spare time is up to you.
- Not sure if it's legally binded by a written agreement-that I'd check with with the Citizens Advice Bureau. Even if it isn't legal, all employers do these days is sack you for another reason that's hard to prove. They don't care about our personal lives any more!
