What are some companies or jobs with a good work/personal life balance?
I'm a somewhat recent college grad with a degree in organizational communication. Just recently finished up an internship with a media buyer. I'm now interviewing and finding alot of jobs expect you to work like a 60 hour work week. I value my family, friends, and personal time and am not willing to make my entire life my work. M-F 9-5 I'll be the hardest worker you ever had but feel like my personal time is my personal time and I don't want to be up until midnight every night and spend my weekends on the computer working. It seems like a lot of people view this as lazy or not serious about a career but I personally think I just have a different set of prioririties. I was wondering if someone could recommend jobs or companies that have a good work/life balance?

- i think you have the right priorities. work and private should have equal balance for anyone to be happy and successful. i worked for the ymca and found them to be very balanced. excellent vacation (even after 6 months), great work environment and free membership for fitness. they seem to believe in spirit, mind and body health.
- No matter which company you work for they will tell you when to start work when to finish and when to take your breaks and holidays and if as now the economy gets tough they will dispense with your services with out a second thought. But all is not doom and gloom thousands of professionals across the world, myself included have found an alternative which allows you to work from home, set your own hours and generate an income which can exceed that of the the top executives in any field. Network Marketing or Multilevel Marketing is now regarded by many as the profession for the 21st Century, although many who are either uninformed or ill informed regard it with suspicion.
