  1. These days, ignorance is bliss.
  2. if you are knowledgeable, you are smart enough to realize that you should'nt be sad about stuff, be happy... makes me wonder, why i'm so sad
  3. The same as the relationship between stupidity and misery.
  4. HI Jennifer! What a fantastic question! I think that it depends on what makes you happy. Knowledge is power. If you're a fan of power, I think the connection is important! Personally, I love learning new things because it makes my world bigger. I can't imagine being happier than when I know something and can help someone else with my knowledge. On the flip side, some people say "ignorance is bliss." If you don't know about something you can't be held responsible. I guess it depends on your point of view. Be happy...be smart!
  5. The more you think and analyze the more you can think of reasons not to be fulfilled and happy so i would say that the more thoughtful of a person you tend to be the more you will be inclined to not be happy and the knowledge of other people and there happiness may make it even harder for some. I hope that made sense.
  6. those with true knowledge see the reality of the world and its nature, and can understand our place in it those who live in ignorance do not see the true nature of things and cannot understand our place in the grand scheme of things therefore those with knowledge have a greater and deeper happiness, than those who live ignorantly that would be the traditional answer, thus explaining the expense of educationg children and helping underprivilegeed societies to better themselves it is probably the answewr most easily traced to the ancient Greek philosophers and the continuing tradition of learning embodied in the modern university
  7. Some of the happy-est people i have meet....weren't educated People who have little...have little to loose The more we learn....the more we question Not all we find out makes us happ-y I think it is like walking a tight rope....maintaining our happiness
  8. I'm not so sure about the "ignorance is bliss" saying... to me, knowing about something, learning about the world, and all the different people can be fulfilling in it's own way... and there are different kinds of knowledge; For example, knowledge of someone cheating on you, as compared to...let's say knowledge of knowing how to speak another language....those are very different kinds of knowledge. but yeah, any kind of knowledge can bring about very different aspects of happiness or unhappiness....it's more about your own personal perspective i guess.
  9. You said Knowledge AND happiness? Actually Knowledge of happiness is the key. It is much more important to have a clarity as to what happiness is. Many have some tastes of happiness for a few fleeting seconds and they think that is the happiness. It could be sex, fast cars , money that can buy things etc. Thus , knowledge about happiness is not complete . Lasting happiness , a permanent state of being happy is the real happiness. It is not that people donot taste this real happiness. They do but they donot realise this .Listen to a great music . You will notice that for a short period you move into the realm of something sublime, some thing eternally soul satisfying . You want to linger on to that for ever. Even in sex, for a few seconds you are in a suspended animation , so to speak. But only for a very short duration . The peace and serenity and happiness that you get at that point is the happiness. Sex, music, money cannot give that . Knowledge of what can give that is the key. Understanding oneself is the way to happiness.
  10. Knowledge is only associated to smart alecs , who , not necessarily be happy - while happiness applies to any Tom / Dick and Harry who has no worries.
  11. In my experience the relationship is inversely correlated.
