Is it true that cutting your wrists actually produces endorphins, creating a rush of happiness?
My friends were having a conversation about cutting your wrists, and my friend Emily told Allison that slitting actually creates endorphins, causing a 'rush' of happiness. I personally don't cut, but I was just curious.

- I believe that's actually true, although I' not sure about the "rush". Please note that cutting your wrists actually produces DEATH sometimes, creating far LESS happiness. I worked on adolescent psychiatric wards for a lot of years, and sadly, I've seen this for myself.
- i dont think so maybe it makes you happier because it has the same effect as crying.. it helps you let it all out. but about the endorphins part.. no.. i dont think so.. you dont create hormones when you cut, it doesn't make sense
- I think that you do. If your body "likes" being cut, then it probably will produce endorphins.
