how can I become a successful real estate agent?

I just made a huge career choice into Real estate. My question is, if this is the only job you can do in America and you have little or no money. How would you make this work into a huge success?

  1. If you LOVE the job, you'll find the drive and focus to become successful; what is hard work in others' eyes, will be effortless fun to you. You'll do what is needed and learn every second you're on the job about the job. That's the REAL key to success. That's pretty much it: thousands $$ saved on seminars. A word of caution, though: NEVER let blind ambition cause you to burn bridges with others--espicially your family. To quote Gene Simmons of KISS: "Be careful who you f**k with on the way up, for if you do--they'll be waiting for you on the way down.
  2. Start part-time on the weekend. It will be a slower start, but a safer one. Start telling the people that you know, I mean everyone that you know, that you are now a real estate agent. Give everyone a card. Bring up real estate, buying a home, why rent, low interest rate, a wonderful home, new to the market conversation that you can. Make a list of the people that you use for services, give them a few cards to hand out for you. Cleaners Mechanics Bankers Doctors Dentists Hygenists Gas station attendants Supermarket checkers Apartment managers Anyone you come in contact with! Friends Cousins Aunts Uncles Grandparents Parents Girlfriend Classmates Co-workers in the current job Neighbors Any related people to you!
  3. Real estate is not real estate business, it's "PEOPLE" business. If you are good with people and work hard, you can be very successful.
