Im thinking about becoming a real estate agent and I have a few questions.....?
I live in NY, im 20 yrs old and im going to be a junior in college. Is now a good time to take the real estate classes and take the state exam? How long is the certification good for after you take the test? After the test what steps do I take in becoming a successful agent? any help is appreciated, thanks

- how poor did you want to be again?
- Now could be a good time. The market is down and I think there will be many Realtors leaving and not many people thinking of getting into the business. In most states the certification is forever as long as you take the mandatory training and pay your fees. Find a reputable real estate firm. Interview them and make sure they have training for newbies. It will be tuff to start out and costs lots of money. Be prepared not to make money for awhile. I would also take sales and marketing classes. Make sure you are cut out for sales, not every one is.
