Should I become a real estate agent?
How much do they usually make (zip-34685)? What's the average? I won't be working as a real estate agent for another 4 years so it will be after the "real estate depression". Ideas on being successful? Someday I want to have a large team in selling real estate. Thoughts? ...Any other career opportunities that make good pay?

- My experience in sales was miserable. The money is VERY erratic, and unpredictable. To start out, you might want to do it part time, and work a full time to give you benefits and a "stable" income. Then, if the real estate gig takes off, you can do it fulltime.
- There is no average. It's a 100% commission job, the harder you work the more you will make. It takes years to develop a trusted, loyal client base and to be an expert in your area. Make sure you have savings to live on or a part time job so you can pay the bills in the meantime.
- Most people dream about making money like the top high earners in real estate to only have their dreams flushed away after fighting it out in the "snake pit". There's alot of head aches that go along with this profession that include working weekends and nights, competing against too many people, and hard to please customers to name a few. If you still find the lure of the real estate business attractive but don't want the long hours, relentless competition, and heavy workload...there's other career paths in the real estate field other than being an agent. Some with a considerably higher income. There's some good information out there about real estate, http://land-hunter.blogspot.com is a good source. Hope it helps, good luck.
