What does a real estate agent earn per year when starting out at a large company?

Also, what type of hours do they keep? I play in a successful band and I wonder if i'll stll be able to do it on weekends and evenings. Let me know! What would I earn?

1. Most are sub-contractors. The average in our city is $8,000.00. There are a lot of people who dabble in real estate. Two to three percent of the real estate agents make 75% of the money.
2. if a client wants to see a house, you take them when it's convient for them, not you. income depends on which company you work for. someone like re/max has you pay a monthly "rent" for office space, you also pay for your own advertising, signs etc. and you commision is 100% yours. coldwell banker on the other hand doen't charge staff, but takes a chunk of your commision. when i was a realtor i made 150k in my best year and i worked about 30 hrs a week on average. my worst year i made 30k. it depends on how hard you are willing to work.
