what does it take to be a great real estate agent?

I tried it when i was 23 with 2 babies going through a divorce...no matter how much i wanted it....it was tooooooooooo hard...i stil have the desire, the dream, my kids are older and I dont necessarily need the money...i just want to make sure that I have what it takes to be successful in this business....thanks ahead of time!!!

  1. It takes a lot of drive and you have to be very friendly and personable. The business gets easier the longer you are in it but it can be very difficult (as with any commission business) at the beginning. Good Luck!
  2. As in any other business, be truthful.. If there are some things that are not quite right with the property, tell the clients, let them decide if they want to go ahead.. They might make an offer based on the condition of the property. That way you'll build up a good client base of people that trust you and will refer you to family and friends.
  3. It takes a lot of drive, time, and effort. You must be willing to be on call 7 days a week. I wouldn't recommend it if you have a family with small children.
  4. To like people enough to know what their dreams are so that you can find them the house of their dreams.

With persistence and dedication, the small time investment will pay off in the long run as you become a successful real estate agent.
