What could stop the ''happy''face of yahoo messenger from ''jumping up'' to warn me about new messages

I have created unadvertantly another email address, but it's ok, and then a day later I realised that it would be safer for me to change my password. I notice the password has changed automatically on the previous address I had, which is cool, but DID I DO something to effect the ''yahoo'' smily face to jump when I get a new mail. I received seveal email in the meantime, and nothing. I even sent myself an email, nothing. ANY SUGGESTIONS ? Thanks

1. Hi aida, I usually don't even sign into messengar then I don't get those pop up smiley's. I just leave it on my desk top. You might try signing in invisible & see if that helps. Go to Yahoo messengar, then status, then invisible to all. Hope this helps & have a good weekend. :0)
