Anyone know why my dog put his face on my face when he is happy or excited?
When ever my dog is happy or excited he tend to put his face over my mouth and or nose. He puts the under part of his jaw on my mouth so I can not talk or yell.. Is this a sign of love?? A sign of dominance ?? Does he just like my kickin breathe ??

- Cause he's a dog.
- Your dog loves you, love him back!
- i think he might want to go out side or he wants to play or hes making sure you ok or he likes you
- IS this a joke? wheres the punchline? j/k but maybe he knows ppl think its cute so he does it
- without seeing it, i tend to think it's a sign of dominence. I know that submissive dogs lick the "chins" (underside of the snout) on dominate dogs, I wonder if he is expecting this of you. Though, if he doesn't show any other signs of dominence, I would say that he's just trying to be on eye level with you. Dog's meet each other up close and in each other's faces and bottoms and what not. They are very nosy in general.
- This will sound gross, but I'm pretty sure its right. He's waiting for you to regurgitate some food for him. As pups, their mothers will eat food and partially digest it, then throw it back up, making the equivalent of canine baby formula... You're the alpha dog, so naturally you get the best food. The subordinate dogs get the scraps. In packs, you sometimes see a dog licking the muzzle of another, who might have food on his face. Dogs also lick to show submissiveness to another.
