Do you know when your Yahoo Happy Face is on???

Sometimes next to my boyfriend's e-mail address, his yahoo happy face is on and sometimes it's not. I asked him how come this is, he says he does not know. Could he not know that his happy face is even on? I thought it is only on when you sign on to chat??? Could he be lying to me? How can I be sneaky and find out???

1. You can sign in as invisible and the happy face will not be on but you will be on the messenger and be able to talk to anyone. Hope this doesn't get him in too much trouble.
2. I believe that if you sign on to your yahoo account it will show that you are on even though you might be offline or invisible mode. So if you see a happy face by his name that means he is on. Is not like Myspace that it takes a while to completely log you out.
