why do you think "Titanic" was a big success?

i looked up the gross from this movie. first reaction. wow. do you ever think the record will be broken? i personally think Titanic was fantastic because they got almost all of the facts right. if not all. *and because of Winslets and De Caprio's performance was phenomenal in the movie) other movies that are "true" only get a few. which sucks. people think the Dark Knight could possibly break it. what do you think? 1. why do you think "Titanic" was a big success? 2. will the record ever be broken? 3. any other answers to stuff i didnt cover?

  2. 1.titanic was so sucessful casue girls were so obsessed with Leonardo DiCaprio 2.probally if something good ever comes along with another big heart throb
  3. Well titanic ofcourse was a classic. But the earths population increases so much in just one year. so yes, i'd say that another movie could break the record. i think batman was amazing, but i dont know if it could compare to a classic movie. then again the titanic was a little boring throughout it. batman kept me intrested.... i liked batman better ^w^ im not sure how much titanic made, but batman made $155.34 million dollars in the opening weekend!!! thats fricken amazing!
  4. 1. Because of the young girls who went to see it for Leonardo Dicaprio and also people went to see this film multiple times in theatres. 2. It could be but with inflation and all of the that it may be hard. 3. It was an okay movie not to sound like a "hater" but quite frankly I don't see what the big deal is about the film. Not saying it was horrible just not some great masterpiece some people made it out to be. But hey to each it's own I guess.
  5. Titanic was a big success because it was the soppiest of soppy love stories, and a massive-budget film. It made a lot of money because a bunch of people went to see it upwards of 6 times. It impressed the Academy because it had a huge budget and made a lot of money. 2. Of course it will, if only because the dollar is worth less and less as we go along. 3. Titanic has the positively worst writing and acting I've ever seen in a theatrical-release movie - with the exception of "Doomsday." Which may be another part of its success - hit it real big with the soap-opera crowd. Seriously, Winslet showed her tits while DiCaprio said "Rose" about 200 times (with only four different inflections). I don't qualify that as phenomenal performance.
  6. I personally felt , due to the producer, went to capture the titantic and became so engrossed with the findings that have taken years to do, and have had a very unique way of, for example: Transforming young Roses eyes to the old Lady's eyes. The color, composition, the right movement at the right time,And a few others as new lovers, and the horror of the detail of the ship's graveyard and how most of all, how unfairly human beings were classified./1,500 human lives were left to perish at the frozen sea/ yet only six were to be found alive. A good wake up call in my opinion: a lesson to learn in life
  7. The movie was a great love story that was funny and action packed at times. It had a lot of qualities that make movies big hits. Not to mention that Titanic is a true story (Not the love story, at least that I am aware of) so it helps pull people. Leo wasn't even that popular until AFTER the movie came out. So once women saw how attractive and how good of an actor he was, they went to see it more. lol. The acting from everyone was excellent. The movie was really in touch with emotions and with the story of the Titanic. Plus it had important morals like importance of life and that status/money doesn't matter especially when it comes to love. So it had a good message.
