How long do material things keep you happy?

I know that material things don't keep you happy forever. So how long do material things keep you happy? I can only be happy for about two weeks, then I start buying new things. Even if I have to keep buying and buying to keep me happy, I would still feel dead inside.

2. Until you get bored with them, or until they wear out? Depends on attention span. Hope your parents or your partner has a lot of cash to keep you going!

I'm concerned about the fact that you're buying stuff to make you happy. Things are just things, not keys to happiness. I would go to a theprarist if this continues, as this doesn't sound like normal behaviour.
