  1. I sing along if I am close enough then clap when it is over
  2. clap- sing- pretend you care when you could care less.
  3. I smile lovingly at the recipient of that honor and I clap when they are finished. I think it's sweet.
  4. I like to try and hit the Birthday person in the head with a Dinner Roll. If, it a woman, I butter it first for her.
  5. You know what? Inwardly, I cringe for the victim, for the lucky birthday boy or the birthday girl. We do NOT sing Happy Birthday for the person celebrating their birthday; we sing happy birthday for that person's friends. It is because they want the satisfaction of having made a proper to-do for their friend or loved one. I would NEVER want the birthday song sung for me, but if other patrons request the birthday song treatment, for power to them.
  6. If they are sitting close to my table, I join in singing with them. If I leave before the birthday person, I tell them happy birthday when I am leaving the restaurant.
  7. I SING ALONG HOOT AND HOLLER AND CLAP REALLY LOUD
  8. I depends on my mood. If they're right by me, I'll watch and then clap. If I'm further away, I just keep talking and eating and maybe clap just to add to the celebration.
  9. well sometimes its funny! so if its funny i laugh
  10. just smilr e and look at them or clap or just sit and ignore
  11. umm good question...i just ya know clap play it cool!! HPPY HOLIDAYS!! -Liv
  12. If its a funny Happy Birthday song, I watch and laugh
  13. i thank god thats it not me .. how embarrasing. some one who dont know you is singing to you .. omg
  14. What else can you do....you smile and clap when they are finished singing.
  15. I just keep on with the conversation I was having with my dining partner, and pretend I don't hear them. <g> When I go out to dine, it's usually to relax in a quiet atmosphere.
  16. depends. usually it is ok, we just continue on with our meal. one night we were at a large chain resturant and seriously, they sang every 2 minutes! One would be over and then "Happy Ba ba ba ba" then smile, okay what was i saying? then "yeah, happy ba ba ba ba" wow, lots of birthdays tonight, what did you just say? "everyone todd has a birthday!!! happy ba ba ba ba!" I was loosing my mind!!!!
  17. I smile and feel happy that someone is celebrating their birthday and having a good time. Then I look forward to when it will be my birthday and they will sing for me.
