Do you hate the Happy Birthday song?

I hate the Happy Birthday song, I hate to sing it and I hate to have it sung to me, I think it is awkward and embarrassing. Who agrees?

4. I hate all those old songs written hundreds of years ago. Why doesn't someone come up with new ones?
5. I hate it too. I never sing it and when others are singing it I make loud noises and laugh at everybody.

7. Yeah, it is very annoying. It's annoying to have to sing it to somebody everytime there is a birthday, and its also really embarrassing to just have to sit there are smile when it is sung to you.

16. no! Its souppoused to be HAPPY!I only i get embarressed, when it was my birthday 5 days ago and me and my family went to manderin. And the guy came over to give me my slice of cake with jello on the side and sprinkles,my mom,dad older sis and 2 older bros sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me it was REALLY embarrassing ECSPEACILY on front of the guy!but it was FUN and i got me and my familys pic taken!

I dont agree.I think you must be in teens and so find it awkward and embarassing.The birthday song might have become old but it carries beautiful memories with it to old people.Why should you feel awkward and embarassing to sing the bday song?Its in a way to show how you care for a person and how united all are in singing and expressing their love for a person.
18. Same with me. I hate it whenever a huge group of people sing it. I know that they want to celebrate my birthday; but when the sing it, I am just sitting there, looking around at a bunch of people surrounding me and singing to me. It just feels soooooo awkward and it's embarassing too! I feel as if I am a 5 year old child when people sing it to me. Especially, that is the case when I am at a restaurant and one of my friends just HAS to tell the waiter that it's my birthday. Then, all the waiters come and sing happy birthday and give me a slice of cake, while, again, I'm just sitting there, surrounded by a bunch of strangers singing to me. And, all of the surrouding tables are staring at me too. Because I don't like to sing (well, only in the shower), it feels weird when I sing it too. Most of the time, I just open my mouth a little a sing in a barely audible voice. When I am with a group of big people, I just mouth it sometimes.
