  1. I have no idea what your second paragraph is about or trying to say. But in the main it's true that the fool is happy because he knows no more...ignorance is bliss and all that. If you don't know you have a problem, or about other problems in the world, you don't have to worry about them. And not having worries is a large part of what people define as happiness.
  2. I guess in a way children can be of an example because they are not fully aware of what goes on around the world (like global, national, and perhaps even local issues). They are carefree and usually blissful. However, as one grows older, they are exposed to the dangers and "evils" of this world--which sort of takes away their innocence.
  3. He who lives simply lives happily. That doesn't translate to being a fool.. or vise-versa. This, below, is from Wikipedia: "Simple living (or voluntary simplicity) is a lifestyle individuals choose to minimize the 'more-is-better' pursuit of wealth and consumption. Adherents choose simple living for a variety of reasons, such as spirituality, health, increase in 'quality time' for family and friends, stress reduction, conservation, social justice or anti-consumerism, while others choose for personal taste or personal economy. The interplay between conflict and consumerism, such as wars fought for control and exploitation of natural and human resources, is considered a good reason for promoting a simple living lifestyle (factors leading to war). " I agree. This country is sinking into it's own junkpile... wars.. greed. Too bad. .
  4. Look no further then George W. ?
  5. i think the reasoning would have to be that he is happy / content with what he has because he might assume that is all there is. or perhaps he could see it as a luxury. nevertheless everyone knows what they can get and is happy with it
  6. This question must be taken in the context of what a fool really is. In strict definition it is saying that because the man does not know he is able to make what he wants of the world. Compare it to the life of a dog and you can clearly see that the less you know the better. But when you think about this more, you have to ask is that really true? Consider how much we know. Is that enough to make a clear judgment on what a fool is? It seems more likely that the more one knows the happier he will be, but by feeling we know it all we have limited our ability to strive for more. The reality is, we want to think we know everything. We know nothing. We are all fools by default, and I would not have it any other way.
