Can all marriage records be found online?

i know they are public records, but does each state have laws, etc as to whether that information is available?

Public Comments

  1. Just about in heterosexual terms, but since most "gay" marriages never get surnames changed , the divorce makes it harder to track if you needed routes in that area.
  2. No. They are public records. No govt agency has any obligation to have them online.
  3. yes you can view it on line.
  4. Online, no - available for public viewing, yes. You may have to go to the courthouse and request records you want to see. Or you can pay someone to search the records for you. A great many marriage records can be found on ancestry.com but it's not a free site.
  5. You can view many court records on-line for a cost per page and registration sign up at this official US GOV site. http://pacer.psc.uscourts.gov/ You can also go to your local Superior Court and do name searches for free. Printing the cases at the court yourself is not avail. Requesting copies from the Court is possible if you have the party name and case # and state exactly what info you are looking for in writinig. There is a cost per single printed page.
