How do I find death and/or marriage records for citizens of Japan?

- Check with the local Mormon Church, LDS. They are the most likely to have what you want and are accessible. They are almost always willing to help.
- CALL OR E-MAIL YOUR STATE REPRESENTATIVE. THEY WILL ASSIST YOU IN THAT ENDEAVOR, IF THEY CAN. THEY MAY HELP YOU DIRECTLY IF THE REASON IS SOMETHING THEY ARE REQUIRED TO HANDLE. SUCH AS RECORDS OF A BRITH OR DEATH OF AN AMERICAN CITIZEN IN ANOTHER COUNTRY ETC... IF THEY CAN NOT INTERVENE ON YOUR BEHALF, THEY WILL POINT YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL TO YOU.
- Have a look at the link posted below, it covers just about every country in the world, and Japan is on the list, just scroll down the page. There is a fee involved but I think it's worth it. My friend searched for years for her "missing" person. She registered and within days they were chatting on the phone, they have had a mini break together, and she's chuffed to bits. http://www.gov-files.com/public_record_search.asp?wid=&tcg=1&PID=9c24fed3-97a5-4831-a862-b9f953afc632 you could try, it may be helpful.
