- its nonsense...people are multi-tasking just like a computer...you can excel in both profession...
- I dont see y it make it easier to beat up your boss and tell him wat to do
- Actually if you are a driven person, then Martial Arts only helps increase your drive and confidence. If you are not a driven person, then it may actually help you become more driven. It is like any other physical activity, it increases your health, confidence, overall well being and focus period, if anything it will only help you for success elsewhere because of the confidence, energy, and discipline you gain.
- I have somewhat, but that's only because I'm so focused on martial arts that anything else seems secondary.
- train for a while grasshopper and the answer will become clear to you~
- It's exactly the opposite. Training in the arts gave me the determination and self-discipline to gain a high position in management. Amongst other things, it gives you the ability to completely sink your mind into one subject (zanshin) while maintaining a calmness and peace most other people can't manage. Additionally, you gain the self-confidence to deal with most problems without getting stressed out. Ultimately I left the group board of a multi-national company and set up my own martial arts business mixing both sets of skills, my knowledge of martial arts and my knowledge of business. The skills and attributes you gain from a deep study of martial arts maximise your management abilities not decrease them. Additionally, if you get to instructor level, the man management, motivation and communication skills are a massive benefit.
- you can open your own martial arts school, so you can still have success in business
- No worries... Practicing martial arts has given me the confidence to: 1. Earn a undergraduate & graduate degree. 2. Pass a strenuous 3-year internship and a state licensing board exam. 3. Write 4 books. 4. Become a successful entrepreneur. Lose your drive? No way! Martial arts helps you focus your drive and become more efficient and effective! Good luck! :-)
- Of course not. In fact it will complement you in business. You will be healthier and more discipline which is an asset in business. Happy Training!
- got it backwards.... Martial Arts is about becoming better... period.... and that translates into everything you so... have you ever met a long term Martial artist who isn't successful at what they do for a living?... I have never met one.... have you ever met a Martial Artist who isn't continuously trying to improve, in what ever they are faced with..... It gets ingrained into you, if you can handle the training, you can handle anything calmly and effectively
