Success Happy

Any one out there that has started your own auto detailing business and can a woman be successful?

I'm a divorced mother of two who is tired of working the office job and want to make a better life. I want to start my own business in the detailing industry, but I know I have a lot to learn yet. I enjoy detailing cars..I offer to do my friends as a favor or in exchange for favors. I just enjoy it and it almost seems like therapy so I figure if I learn more about the industry, I can turn the "therapy" into a living. Any body have any advice?

  1. one of the most successful biz. in atl is a company called "my mechanic is a woman" SO Y NOT, GOOD LUCK
  2. I've never started a business like that but one thing I can say is...A woman can be as successful or more successful then any man. it is just a matter of how much you apply yourself.
  3. We live in a small town in NY and we have a friend that went into this business. He was just artistic and took no schooling for it. He does great work and also does other painting ,he painted a lion which is our mascot on the anouncers booth at the school for the football games. He painted small posters to put up to direct people to our sports field. Just advertise and start painting. If you are good at art, ask around if you can do any paint for anyone. Schools, chamber of congress in your town, anyone Good Luck.
  4. I've started several businesses, though not detailing. The question of success is much more related to quality and service than gender. Run a good service, manage well, and your gender can be a benefit. Women are frequently more reliable managers than men. Good luck!
