Success Happy

When will we know who the successful Democratic Candidate will be?

What exactly are we waiting on? I'm not American, and the system is at best confusing. Is there an pre-election election and if so what is it and when?

  1. At 7:22 AM. .
  2. As soon as the wolf howls and the jingoism slogans are complete! Soon, because the mud is getting thick.
  3. as soon as they have the recounts and fight over the "hanging chads" lol
  4. When they announce it at the Democrat Party Convention on August 28th,after Hillary calls in all the favors she can to see if she can get the Super Delegates to steal the nomination away from Barack Obama and give it to her. If they give the nomination to her the event will be followed by rioting at the convention, and a general sate of unrest elsewhere. Then we will move onto the general election where John McCain will be elected to the Presidency. Hope this information has been helpful. YTP
  5. We will know for sure that Obama has won in August at the Democratic Convention held in Denver.
  6. That's the question everyone wants answered. The earliest it can happen depends not on primaries, but on potential scandal. If something nasty is revealed about one of the candidates they dismiss or deflect, they'll drop out. This is unlikely, but it's always possible in an election campaign. Neither candidate can get the required 2025 delegates to be automatically nominated, so the goal is to have the highest number of delegates possible by the time of the Democratic National Convention Commitee in late August. The remaining primaries & caucuses are: April 22 Pennsylvania primary May 3 Guam caucuses May 6 Indiana primary, North Carolina primary May 13 West Virginia primary May 20 Kentucky primary, Oregon primary June 1 Puerto Rico primary June 3 Montana primary, South Dakota primary Barack Obama leads Hillary Clinton at present by 1629 to 1486 including superdelegates. It is obviously not enough for Obama to take the nomination, nor is Clinton far enough behind to warrant withdrawal from the race. The most likely scenario is that it will go to the DNCC, unless one candidate wins each remaining primary & caucus by a landslide and is able to attract more superdelegates as a result.
  7. After the convention.
  8. I would say, that maybe you will have a clue after the Pennsylania primary.
