How do the qualities that make a "successful" candidate impair their ability to run their office if they win?
"The very qualities that allow a man to run for a win office may be the same qualities that deny their ability to function competently in the office." What examples can you think of presently and in past elections that pertain to this? This is for a paper I have to compose for a government course I'm taking, and I'm having trouble getting started. Any and all help is appreciated!

- The qualifications that allow them not to function in the white house is the senate because they are always vetoing one thing or another. They never get any real work done. and now they are on vacation until end of March.Their being in office is a vacation within itself.
- In the modern pseudo-democracy that we have in the West, one of the qualities--I will use that term but remember I am only using it to help you--that helps greatly is the ability to be everything to everyone without a sense of shame or irony, especially if it is a new face. As long as they do not commit too much or too often or open contradict themselves in the same sentence it almost always will get by the masses as they have little critical thinking skill, and the candidate will know this. However this same bending as it comes attitude will prove to be a liability when the time comes to actually lead, because the ability to delagate and make hard choices is not present in that sort of persons character. Any way I hope that this helps, or at least gives you an idea.
