Success Happy

Why have the democratic candidates (Clinton and Obama) been so successful in fundraising this election cycle?

Why have the democratic candidates (particularly Clinton and Obama) been so successful in fundraising this election cycle, in comparison to the Republicans? Haven't Republicans been better at findraising in the past?

Public Comments

  1. Because 8 years of Republican Rule has left the people bitter as hell.
  2. Because everyone hates republicans because Bush ran us into the ground.
  3. Because people want CHANGE from the last 8 years
  4. Nothing has helped fill the democratic coffers more than 8 years of George W. Bush. He's probably raised more money for the democratic party than his own.
  5. The pendulum swings. And it's swinging to the left right now. But the democratic primaries might end up costing the party what they thought was a "sure win."
  6. In Obama's case, he has the likes of George Soros pumping huge amounts of money into his campaign through indirect means. Obama also has no qualms about taking money from organizations like the New Black Panther Party, the largest black hate organization in America according to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Hillary is getting corporate money, particularly from Silicon Valley corporations who she has promised an increase in cheap foreign scab labor by dramatically increasing the H1B quotas.
  7. Very simple The people of this country are fed up with the current administration. If you look at the combined forces of Clinton and Obama they dwarf the Republicans two to one. We are seeing a real revolt in the population and the Republicans are going to be lucky if they can get jobs as dog catchers when this is done.
  8. They are getting a lot of support from elite rich liberals like George Soros. Republicans mostly get small donations from average working people that just want to work hard, save money and build wealth on their own without government interference..
  9. I guess since most people don't like Republicans anymore, most people are for democrats.
  10. Hillary hasn't been as successful since she's mostly been spending her husband's money, but people are giving to Obama because we are sick of Bush's crap and are equally sick of bill and hillary's.
  11. That's a really good question. I honestly don't know the answer, but one reason may be that the fight between Clinton and Obama is so intense, whereas McCain is the clear nominee of the Republicans. Clinton and Obama need a lot of money to go against each other, so Clinton fans will naturally donate a lot of money to Clinton and Obama fans will donate to Obama. I think when the general election comes around, there will be more donation to the Republican party. People just don't think McCain needs the money right now, whereas the Dems do.
  12. They are trying to make enough money to save for their democratic convention trip as more elobrate and a big show on their clothes- brand and top hotels to stay, etcc. and give half of them to the democratic convention to turn into "Hollywood" look. Republican felt it's not necessary to rush to make enough fundraising to make the impressions. Yes, Republican had in the past, but they are not big on fundraising as Democrats do.
  13. One word- Bush! Yes, the GOP has been better in the past, but this time around, I think they realize it's a Dem race to lose, and honestly, we are in such a big mess that I don't think they mind. They can blame all of our crisis in 4 years on the Dem. prez.
