How much does Obama want to punish successful Americans?

The top 10% of American earners pay 70% of all taxes right now. The bottom 50% pay ONLY 2.6% of all taxes! That is HALF of Americans only paying 2.6%!!!! How much more should the successful be punished? Give me a number!

1. Logically if you make more money you should carry a higher tax burden.

4. Senator Obama wants to give them change. He figures about 25 cents on their dollar should be enough change back.
5. It is the liberals way of doing things. Being the liberals are of the uneducated party as a whole, they need to tax those who have become "the best they can be" by taxing the heck out of them. Little do they realize they are punishing the people who help put food on their table!
6. It seems odd that the worry is over the top 10%, who are worth billions and quite capable of paying 70% of all taxes and the poor who would not be expected to pay more than 2.9%. What about the other 28% of the taxes? The middle group is more unfairly taxed than either the top bunch or the bottom bunch. This is not a punishment for success. It is not punishment at all.

9. Well if you factor in the tax increases for SS, capital gains, and the reversal of the Bush tax cuts - you are looking at upwards of 55-60% for the top tax bracket. It is so shortsighted of liberals to think - 'oh yeah tax the rich'. Tax revenues have doubled from the top 1% under the Bush tax cuts. Do you really believe the top 1% will let their money be taxed out the wazoo? No. They will shelter it, move it offshore, and use a variet of means to not pay. That means reduced tax revenue. Why is the concept so hard to understand? No one is saying that the tax system should not be progressive but within certain limits. Quite frankly I wish they would scrap it all together and go to a consumption based system - fairtax.org.

It's always easy for those that don't make much to hate those that do, I was taught if you don't like your lot in life then get off of your a$$ and change it but don't expect someone to give you hand outs or sit around whining and blaming others because you are one of the "have nots". If someone that whines about the rich were to hit a million dollar lottery how long do you think it would take them to change their tune when they saw Obama taking a disproportionate chunk of their winnings.
11. If everyone paid the same percentage , the poor would pay very little and the very rich would pay plenty. But then, how would the Dems get elected? Class warfare that is what keeps them in power. Without class war fare dum dum's like Nancy and Harry would not be in Washington. BHO would still be in the windy city trying to be whatever the voters wanted him to be.
