When someone gets indefinite leave to remain?

Where are they housed? Because the temporary, all expenses paid for accommodation must come to an end when they get their ILR and work permit/National Insurance Number - they can then apply as "homeless" to their local council. Just like unfortunate British taxpayers who may have lost their homes due to job loss, mortgage repossession, eviction etc. However, these people will usually be judged "intentionally homeless" and left in a homeless shelter. So what happens to the successful asylum seekers? I suppose they are going straight into the Council and Housing Association houses that should. be rights, be available to the British taxpayer? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=382276&in_page_id=1770&ico=Homepage&icl=TabModule&icc=News&ct=5

  1. The law needs to be changed to close the loopholes that these very adept lawyers are searching out! We are still being used as like toilet paper!
  2. When someone gets their ILR they should live where they lived prior to applying for ILR.
  3. they get to buy their own houses. They should have saved enough to buy or rent a house. If they havent saved - then why were they given ILR??
  4. when you become ILR you just work and integrate, pay taxes and drive a car ( paying everything yourself) just like anyone else. Additionally you look for a good job, trying to make something of your life, then you pay your rent and get an even better job so that you can obtain mortgage. Yipeeeeee
  5. You are a little ignorant aren't you - i have a few friends who have ILR status and guess what they work and pay their own rent and council tax so get your facts straight before you go making these unpleasant and generalised statements. I feel sorry for immigrants who are here working hard and paying their taxes because it doesn't matter what they do they are judged from this same narrow-minded perspective. Asylum seekers and people with ILR status are two very different types of immigrants - don't put them in the same pot. I am actually a little disgusted as some of these immigrants with ILR status are married to British citizens and they have children together - what gives you the right to make all these remarks against them - they have every right to be here as you do if they are working hard and paying their way. Grow up!!!!
