Has anyone had met on line, and had a successful relationship?
I am about to meet someone I met online for the first time. We are living a couple of states away, and so it is and will be a long distance relationship. I was wondering, what changes after you have met if anything. I pretty excited to meet him, but I also am not sure how things will change. I figure they will either get better between us, not sure how,or, they will get worse if we don't get along in person. If anyone has been where I am, I would love to hear what you have to say. How did it turn out, any advice.

- a friend f mine started dating a guy she met on line, they were together for more thean 1 year
- I met someone online and we met after 3 weeks 18mths later he moved here he was 2hrs away sadly after a yr lack of job opportunities he had to move back and I wasn't able to go due to health reasons we stayed together another year after but still remain good friends and were together almost 4yrs. Its a risk i'm glad we took though.
- Save all the emails, and remember what was said. If I had done that, I would not have married the first one I met on line. My wife now has been 100% honest about herself. A pattern of lying is not a good start. I know several that have met on line, and there is a 50 50 success rate. Never lower your standards because of "love" If it is true love, he will rise to them.
- I met a woman online 4 years ago, we dated for a while things were good.......however we decided to be just friends and up to this day we are still very close friends......so I say yes there is a great possibility of the relationship being successful, however if the relationship doesnt go well.....at least you could gain a great friendship from it.
- Yes, it can work. DH and I will be married for six yrs this year. Before he and I met, I actually had a couple of guys I was seeing also. I didn't feel serious about him. I'm sure he didn't believe things would work out with me either. Our relationship did change after we met, it became something real. To both of us. We married two years later.
