Is it much easier for good looking guy to get successful life?

Public Comments

  1. This whole world revolves around looks. so yes a guy who was more attractive would be more likely to get a job than an unattractive man.
  2. not all rich people are good looking, you can get away with good looks for a while, but if you can't do your job, you wont be successful
  3. WRONG! look at Chad Kroeger, the lead singer of the famous band "nickelback", who was rated the nonsexist man in the world is a multi millionaire. look at Bill Gates, you can go on and on......It aint looks its your belief in your own self. If you believe that you can be the next millionaire of the world, you will be, if you believe that you can be the president of the United States you can be. If you believe that you can be the next Elvis Presley you will be. But if you beleive that you are good for nothing and cant be anything, you will be nothing, If you beleive that you cant live a life without good looks, you wont live a good life....... So try to change your beliefs about yourself, I bet if you believe in yourself you can get that sexy chick you would love to have, for yourself, even if she has a Boyfriend.....
  4. Yep.
  5. It's called the "halo effect." People tend to assume if someone is very successful in one visible aspect of their life (very attractive, elite athlete, gifted musician, etc.), they're similarly gifted in other aspects of their life. Ironically we see how untrue this is every day in the news: James Brown was an incredible musician/entertainer, and yet he did jail time for drugs, spousal abuse and a high speed car chase. Hugh Grant is a handsome actor who got nailed for hiring a sleazy hooker. Randy "Duke" Cunningham was a hotshot fighter pilot and congressperson who's currently in prison for corruption. You get the idea. So...if you can use the halo effect to your advantage, I say go for it...use whatever gifts you have to their fullest as you pursue your dreams. However, when assessing the character and abilities of other people, look past it. Beautiful doesn't necessarily mean Talented or Decent; Not Beautiful doesn't necessarily mean Uncapable or Creepy.
  6. No Not at all. I wold say that it is jus a myth. Beauty is jus Skin deep. Hard work, dedication, sincerity, trying and trying till ya reach ya destination etc., these are the qualities to be successful in life and looks doesn't matter.
  7. Yep. It's an image, a representation of the company, good looking=good, ugly=bad. Have you ever seen someone working at A & F that was ugly?
  8. now there was aprogramme on this a while back and the answer is according to their stats yes voice looks dress sense all contribute
  9. Quite possibly in the beginning of his success seeking. The same is true for women who more satisfy our societies concepts of beauty. However, attractiveness will only take an individual so far. Whatever their choice of careers are, these people will have to produce positive results or the value of their good looks will diminish. Beauty will only take them so far. It's a bitter pill to swallow for those who use their physical beauty for successful advancement when they realize they have to be successfully productive as well.
  10. you should define the success... if your success is being and work for fashion yeah ! what makes success is a good aim /goal .
  11. Depends on who people think looks good to them, and if that is how you achieve success, than at what price, and for how long, before your looks fade, and what you managed to do with that success, or what you consider success. to be.
  12. That's not true. I am a good looking guy, but because of an accident that gave me some mental difficulties, I am on the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to things handed to me. That's if you look at success in terms of opportunities afforded. Real success isn't in achievement, but in the ability of a person to overcome his humanity and become truly great.
  13. Good looks many times, do open doors for you..But once that door is opened..you have to prove that you have brains in that good looking head of yours..Otherwise, that door will open and close again..And there goes your successful life!
  14. ha ha
  15. Studies have shown that in general, it is TRUE that people who are regarded as "attractive" tend to do better in the career world than those who are not. That said, it is not entirely a matter of your physical attributes, because those who are statistically shy of the mark, so to speak, can dress and behave and groom themselves in ways that produce positive feelings in others. Likewise, folks who got a good hand physically can do things to make themselves uuuuugggleeeeee! And so, there is much latitude when it comes to "making the most" of what you have.
  16. Good looks may get him to the interview, but it takes ability and dedication to keep the job.
  17. Easier than someone who doesn't look professional, yes. Good looks most the time, come from being clean cut and well groomed. Sometimes even the most vulgar people can clean up well. but, if one looks like a slob.... a company won't want to hire that person to represent their company. It's common sense. Easy fix....This is what they want..... A CLEAN suit, hair cut, shower, deodorant, clean nails. (no big gawdy white heads peaking out) They don't care of the person only has one eye ball in the middle of their for head. LOL KNOW the material on your resume.....Have references available. BE PROMPT! Common sense for most, but you'd be surprised.
