What do you say when someone wishes you a happy birthday?

I was never really taught waht to say, and all I ever hear people saying is "thank you." Is that what you should say?

7. You could also say, "Oh, thanks!" or just, "Thanks!" or "Thanks so much!" or if you're not happy that it's your birthday something like, "Yea, I guess, thanks." Keep in mind, you don't have to say anything, there's no "supposed to" about it. It's just polite, I guess....
8. They are wishing you happiness, accept it graciously. Even tell them that you wish them a happy day as well! Life's too short to pass up opportunities to spread some sunshine. BTW, Happy Birthday!
