What do you say when someone wishes you a happy birthday?
I was never really taught waht to say, and all I ever hear people saying is "thank you." Is that what you should say?

- Thank you covers it.
- sounds about right.
- thank you.it was my birthday yesterday and i was saying it all day.
- That's all unless it's a big one and your flying to Hawaii than you can be more exicted.
- Thankyou is all that is necessary. Unless you feel inspired to say more, no one expects anything else.
- Yes
- You could also say, "Oh, thanks!" or just, "Thanks!" or "Thanks so much!" or if you're not happy that it's your birthday something like, "Yea, I guess, thanks." Keep in mind, you don't have to say anything, there's no "supposed to" about it. It's just polite, I guess....
- They are wishing you happiness, accept it graciously. Even tell them that you wish them a happy day as well! Life's too short to pass up opportunities to spread some sunshine. BTW, Happy Birthday!
