Can somebody write down the lyrics of Norwegian Happy birthday song?
One of my Norwegian friends has his birthday tomorrow and I want to gratulate him in Norwegian way. Thanks in advance, Bálint

- In Norway they don't have a norwegian song for Happy Birthday as the one we all know. But when you great someone on his birthday you say: GRATULERER MED DAGEN! You pronounce it: GRA-TU-LE-RER MED DA(A)GEN. This (a) means that the sound of the a has to be a bit extended. And the "a" you don't pronounce as in the word day, but as in the word above. Directly translated will mean: Congratulations on your day. There is a song but not the translated version of the worldwide know Happy Birthday song and it has a very different melody. This song is very short and said : Hurra for deg som gyller dit år, del vig vi gratulerer. That translated will be "Hurray for you that you are on your day today, receive our congratulations"
- Gratulerer med dagen, gratulerer med dagen, gratulerer kjære *insert name of your friend*, gratulerer med dagen! If you're not a native speaker, it might just be a bit difficult to sing this, though =P A "Gratulerer med dagen" should do it, if you don't feel like trying to sing =)
- my answer from yesterday disappeared: see http://www.carla.umn.edu/lctl/VAVA/audio/norwegian/ where the second item is the Norwegian birthday song -- both transcript and sound clip. Alliete's answer didn't quite get the words right gyller dit år fyller ditt år -- get another year older (fills your year)
