- Many philosophers would consider joy an emotion, or a sentiment that one feels, this joy that you feel could guide your course of action and the decisions that you make in one's life. As where Happiness is more of a state of mind that you are projecting towards and trying to attain. I guess more plainly put, you feel joy but you can be in a state of happiness. Joy is more of a short-term feeling, while Happiness is a long-term state after you have attained what you have set out for in life.
- i see joy as something you have inside you or not. it is a gift or talent or something you practice and get good at. happiness is the momentary good feelings generated when things HAPPEN to you or because of you. tmm same but different
- Happiness, according to the Oxford English dictionary, is based on luck or good fortune. Joy on the other hand, is described as a vivid emotion of pleasure. Thus, happiness depends on circumstance; joy, on our emotional well-being.
- I think they both are same or at least close. I can replace on with another in a sentence, without sacrificing or adding to the meaning of it.
