What is your definition of success in life?

I feel like such a failure. Im 35, never owned a house, car or anything of value. I rent a house off my parents (sad). I went to uni and studied science but can't get a job in the field as I need a postgraduate degree to work in science and I can't afford more study. I am not qualified for anything else and so can't even get a job as a cleaner as they want me to have experience in the cleaning industry. What does success in life really mean?

1. You are defining yourself by your employment and material gains! I believe success is finding that deep inner peace we all work so hard to find! With that inner peace it won't matter what stage we are at in life! Everyone progresses differently and you are not a failure, you need to focus on the success in your life! Put a plan into action, draw up some goals, shift your focus from what you can't achieve to what is possible-you can do it! Breathe!
2. i think that to succeed in life is to die feeling happy, satisfied and feel as if I was finished in this life. look for someone who will hire you so that you can gain experience. if you have a community college near-by, look for free courses that could help you towards a higher paying job. but in the meantime you are probably better off trying to find any job so that you at least have an income. But know that you cannot fail at life. You can simply only get out of life what you really need to. Good luck!

4. success means living life happily and in the right way. without doing bad of others..success means being in peace from the soul and heart. success is not only money. success is to live life peacefully. in business and work also if we do our work properly with the right spirit it is success. the only thing to b done is to b good ..work hard. live in peace. rest the result is upto god.
5. It's impossible not to hate yourself based on your employment and money status. In truth, money does buy happiness, but for how long? That is up to you. Success in life is the accomplishment of something that you cherish, or set in your mind that means a lot to you- it doesn't always have to mean a lot to somebody else.
6. Have you actually ask God what is your purpose in life? Many of us define success as how rich we are, how good looking we are, how smart we are or even how powerful we are. Yet many of these that achieve these form of successes are not happy. Friend, you are not a failure...at least in God's eye. You are uniquely and awesomely created by God. Ask God to reveal to you His purpose for you and stop looking for the purpose yourself. You will be surprise how the Lord can change your life provided that you are willing to let Him change you. Many of us are misled by this saying "God help those who help themselves" If we can help ourselves..do we still need Him? I have seen mighty work done in my life by God...though I am not rich or powerful but yet I have seen miracles in my life that even riches could not buy...and the favor of the Lord that open doors for me in hard time and grant me success in the work I am doing. Do not doubt yourself or doubt God. Give God a chance and you might be surprise to see events turning. I know it will happen if you have faith in Him.
7. Success is about setting realistic gals for yourself and then achieving them. You probably feel frustrated because you're living by someone else's rules or definition of success and it surely isn't working for you. Maybe you should think a bit about what it means to you - not to your parents or anybody else you might be trying to please.
8. success; to find out what it is that gives you a feeling of success whether you are a homeless man or a CEO of a fortune 500 company... as long as you find happiness, you are doing the right thing.
9. life is not about waiting the storm to pass, it's about dancing in the rain :)
