  1. Gratification is spanking the monkey and happines is when you're done
  2. happiness lingers long after any gratification. gratification usually comes from doing or getting something whereas happiness comes from yourself or someone you care about.
  3. to be gratified, you have to receive something, like a compliment, an award, even food, etc. It is like being satisfied, in a way. to be happy, you don't necessarily receive anything. Gratification doesn't have to be instant.
  4. without the dictionary..i want to say that.. gratification is something that you can hold..not like its a cookie..but i can give you gratification..by giving you something..so yes..im thinking that its short term all of the time..not like happiness which can be long or short term..
  5. Gratification comes from outside ourselves and is Ego based. Happiness comes from inside ourselves and is spirit based.
  6. Gratification, the feeling that what you do has an impact, the subtle feeling of bliss, takes longer. Happiness is fleeting, no matter it's source. Another way to put it is, gratification is what you feel in your heart and gut. Happiness is a sugar rush or a dancing around in a circle feeling.
  7. gratifaction is fleeting it is something you do to boost your ego. Happines is a more permanent thought process. It is more of a way of being. It reflects your mood on an almost day to day sense
  8. Gratification: the act of pleasing or the state of being pleased; that which gratifies. Happiness: the state of being happy, joyousness.
  9. According to Webster's Dictionary: 1. Gratification means pleasure or satisfaction, there are acts that are considered satisfying or gratifying, or things that give pleasure or are satisfying. 2. Happiness is the feeling of pleasure, causing pleasure, or feeling satisfied. 3. Joy is a feeling of great happiness or pleasure. I would now like to give you my own personal definitions to these words, if I may. 1. Gratification is doing for or receiving from someone the honest and heart-felt satisfaction of being pleasing or being pleased by someone else. Generally, this feeling is long remembered and endears the person to you. It is also a basis for establishing a closer relationship with the person. 2. Happiness to me is the recognition of events or happenings that go my way. Things that I had nothing to do with that somehow fall within the realm of my expectations. It can be short term or long term. The feeling of being happy is dependent upon these outside events. 3. Joy is all abut the inside. Knowing who I am and being content with that. Knowing my limitations and assets without wanting more. Knowing who God is in relation to myself, knowing my purpose in life, and knowing where I'm going when it's all over. Being able to maintain my personal disposition, personality, and behavior when situations around me get out of control in a bad way.
