What does it mean when a guy send you a happy face in a message?

I know it's normal when we girls send :-) in a message like text or email. So what's when a guy do it. I mean guys aren't use to do that. What do you think when a guy sends you happy faces in a message. is it that he likes you or is he gay or is he extra friendly or what?

1. Why can't guys signal that they are happy? He wants you to know that he is happy. Stop judging and just accept that he is friendly.

3. i got one of those from my guy friend i think he likes me he sent me a message saying hey can i sneak in =) lol...i guess it could mean they like you..but it may not it just might mean they are happy

5. OK, first of all there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING gay about sending a smiley face that's ridiculous. With that said, it really depends on the guy and the convo, but like everyone else said its pretty much just a way to show he's happy.
