What do I need to know to be successful in the Real Estate market today?

I will have my Real Estate license by the end of February. I will be working the Mobile, Alabama, area. I want to be able to do the best possible job for my clients. Well what agent doesn't want that? I was wondering what angle should I take to advertising to best promote my services? I have some ideas but I was just wondering. What knowledge do I need to be successful in today's market?

1. I live in Miami Beach. I know real Estate... and I know how it could make you rich or burn you. In these times you either focus on Residential/Commercial Rentals or you get your Brokers License... Brokers do well no matter what the economy looks like. Good Luck to ya!

I am a sales secreatry at a real estate agent and I think that the best leeds you can possibly get a previous buyers or sellers (if the agency you will be working for keeps these records) also setting yourself targets each day, such as door knocking for a few hours then making calls the rest of the day. I believe that being honest and being yourself will get you a long way with clients. Show people how laid back you are and don't let them judge you or feel intimdated by seeing you standing at their door step with a suit. Being prompt with appointments and keeping a daily diary of tasks which need to be met..hope that helps!! All the best!! :)
