How much work is involved in the IB program?
I'm on the fence and i would like to know how much of my time it will take up. I dont have a problem with alot of work but i'd like to maintain a balanced life aswell and dont want to spend all my time studying. Are the classes taken during my normal school hours? Or is it an after school thing?

- it just depends on how well you study. if you retain information well, you won't take a lot of time. but the IB program takes a lot of dedication and work, as it gives you a class in nearly every subject area, depending on what you study. its unlikely youll have time for any electives (except one or two each year), but if you manage your time well, your after-school time could be devoted to other things. and to answer your question exactly, a whole lot of work. and if youre not willing to put in teh time to study, then dont bother. it will only drag you down. ib is just a course pathway, which means its just the classes you'll be taking during school. no extra classes outside of normal class hours, besides from studying.
- IB can be a lot of work depending on what classes you take. But if you are going after the Diploma, you will have to lead a balanced life because you have lots of community service to do along with the classes. The program will really make you start thinking differently, in a good way though. I recommend taking at least a couple classes since you have the opportunity to do so. The classes are taken during normal school hours, just like any other class. Check out the site below that details all about the classes and programs.
