Why is this fact relevant to average American female voter?

McCain camp keeps saying he supports women because McCain has more women working and making more $$ than Obama in his campaign. 1. You are my favorite Yahoo Answers person today. Are the women working in McCain's office and on his campaign doing anything besides getting coffee? I want the candidate that isn't just employing women to look good, but actually has a record and has shown he works for women's equality! Obama/Biden 08!
2. McCain is blowing hot air when it comes to supporting women. He thinks that American women are dumb enough to think he does support us because he has a female VP running mate (who happens to oppose some women's rights, as well). Some of us may be, but certainly not all of us. His track record, as you have pointed out, proves just how much he doesn't support women (just as his vote to oppose a national holiday for Martin Luther King, Jr. proves that he was no champion of civil rights). McCain opposed equal pay for women, he opposed legislation requiring that abstinence-only programs be medically accurate and scientifically based, he supports overturning Roe v. Wade, and much, much more.
3. I agree with you on the pay equity but not on 'reproductive rights' as far as I know McCain isn't against birth control but against abortion. I'm against abortion too and I do not consider myself anti-woman (I'm a feminist). But the fact that McCain voted against legislation that will help women get equal pay really disturbs me. Only because he has women working on his campaign doesn't mean they're doing anything besides getting him coffee.
