How can I find birth records and marriage records for my state?

I once came across a website a couple of years ago which was just a huge list of the people born on what year you clicked on. Same with marriages. It was Texas records and I cannot find the website. Does anyone know how I can find a website like this? Everything I've come across costs money. This was a free database.

2. All I can say is stop wasting your time looking for something that offers it for free. Maintaining a database can be costly so I do understand why this websites may ask for a fee. The best thing to do is find one that charges a minimal fee.
