How do I find marriage records online?
My ex is wearing a wedding ring and I need to know if he is really married. This may affect our custody battle. Every site I've been to wants me to subscribe or pay flat rates. I simply want to find out if he is married without attracting his attention, which I will if I go to the clerk of court in our county. Does anyone know of any site that I might try for free?

- Go to the register of deeds website for his county. If they put their records online, it will tell you. Just type in his name and you will pull up anything that has been filed with the register of deeds, marriage licenses included.
- GO TO THE COUNTY COURT HOUSE.. PUBLIC RECORD
- Sometimes, if you are really sweet to the people at the records office, you can get them to tell you IF a record exists at the clerk and IF you should bother coming down there. I did this once. I called and said could they just tell me if the record existed because I lived really far and wanted to know if it was necessary to drive down there. Then if it does exist, ask if you can send a check and request through the mail and have it sent to you. You say this is for a custody battle? This will not affect your custody issue unless the new wifey is a monster. Sorry!
- go to the state or county that he was married in and try searching there... most cities have that info available online for free.
- google online marriage records
