Is there any relation between pregnancy age and the child's IQ? ?

I have seen some friends whose moms had them at ages above 38. they weren't very successful in school, and didn't seem very clever. Is there any relationship between pregnancy age and the IQ of children?

1. yeah i'm pretty sure if you have a kid too old it has a lot more health risks and lower iq is probably one of them.
2. I don't know about IQ, but I know that there's studies to suggest that babies born to mothers who are older are more at odds to have down syndrome. So... maybe.
3. i had my last baby at 37 and he is 1 in a few days and he is way clever he has been walking from 9 1/2 mnths and dosnt miss a trick but i will say i think it due to constant stimulation i think your 1st bub tends to be a little slow cause its new to parents and no older sibblings to follow lead of but all the followers get clever quicker from watching if new parents are very interactive with ther newborns i think they have just as much chance as the next
