What has your candidate done to promote compromise between opposing views?

Please explain how your candidate has either tried or succeeded in promoting a compromise between the different parties. We all know that candidates usually act differently when running for office, so examples of what they did BEFORE they started running for President would be great. 2. im sorry i cant give you specific links but obama has reached accross the aisle on several pieces of legislation. 2 were mentioned during his half hour address. one limited donations by special interests the other helped make government more transparent by allowing people to access how our money is being spent. there is supposed to be a google link to that. obama was in washington on the thursday when they first started working on the bailout working with both sides unfortunately that fell through at about the time mccain came to the table.
