Are The American Politicians and Presidential Candidates Been Successful in Instilling Fear in Public Hearts?
Public Comments
- hugely successful.throw all the bums out
- Yes and they should all be fired for it!! W. is not our problem anymore. Vote this do nothing congress out on Nov 4th!
- Yes, for the gullible.
- I don't think so. I do think however, that many Americans have ingnored the fact that Al Queda and Islamic fundlementalists still want to kill us. Perhaps because Bush has prevent another strike against us since 2001. And that is a big mistake.
- I think you need to blame the media first.
- The Democrats and the media seem to be very adept at using fear and smear tactics.
- The American people need to know what is going on. Sometimes the news is bad but it gives people the opportunity to prepare and decide how they feel things should be handled by our government in order to vote accordingly. I would be very angry if I thought the government withheld information because they thought it would "scare" me.
- I've just read Bob Woodwards book about the Bush Administrations preparation for war on Iraq. "Plan of Attack" describes the build up to the Iraq war - the military plans, diplomatic plans, strategic plans and publicity plans. Specifically it describes the creation of the phrase - "Axis of Evil" - in which Al Qaeda was used in the same sentence as Iraq, Iran and NKorea - with the implication that they were all connected (on an axis). It was known that they were NOT connected. Chief speechwriter Michael Gerson had the task of convincing America that it's security interests and it's ideals were in jeopardy. And that's what he did.
