Success Happy

when u apply for a job do they tell you if you've not been successful?!?

I have applied for a job, then 4 of us were called for an assessment, it's been a week since, and the H.R person who oversaw the process told me that I'll find out by the end of the week of the result. Do you think that only the successful candidates will be notified, or do you think if that were the case she wouldn't of answered the way she did?! Thank you all for answering, and for giving me the courage to phone them, which I just did, and was told that the decision has been delayed, and that I'll be informed of the decision. -I just hope for this to happen!!!! I'll let you all know what happens. Have just received an e-mail, have been selected for an interview!!!

  1. Most professionals will inform you either way usually via a letter. Have you sent the HR person a thank you note for the chance to interview? That is always an appropriate way to keep their attention on you. Make sure it is profession, hand written, short and genuine.
  2. often only sucessful are informed but it would do no harm to ring and ask for feedback from the interviewer most companies welcome this you could also ask to have your name kept and be informed if another position comes up
  3. Well, I don't think H.R. has any *legal* obligation to inform you if you've not been selected, if that is any help. Some employers do tell you, but most probably won't waste their time. Yeah, I know, it's heartless, but that's life. lol Good luck, hope you get hired.
  4. Most organizations will let you know one way or another. There are always exceptions. Also, some organizations will let you know by a letter if you have not been chosen. It would be perfectly okay and call to find out your status.
