What ever happened to Chuck, Richie and Joni's big brother from happy days?

I was watching some old reruns of happy days at 4:30 in the morning cuz i couldn't sleep and in the first couple of episodes the cunningham's has 3 children.. Richie and joni had a big brother named chuck... I was just wondering what happened to him?

1. He was only in the first season. They just wrote him out after that.
2. "Originally there were three Cunningham children. The eldest, Chuck, was phased out of the show (supposedly, he went off to college on a basketball scholarship), because according to Garry Marshall, "we realized that Fonzie was really the 'big brother' character the show needed". In the final episode, Howard comments that he's proud of his "two kids"."
